New R1 Owner. Very happy but have a few questions.

UPDATE... I went back through the metadata and discovered a few issues. There was a whole cluster of music that was missing "title" in the metadata. I also found a couple of albums with ridiculously large cover art so I shrunk that down to more reasonable size.

The advice given about not using the album artist metadata also seems to have been valid.

My player is being very responsive now and showing all of my songs.

New HiBy R1 + Sennheiser reference headphones + FLAC copy of Annie Lennox's cover of "Whiter Shade of Pale" = goosebumps!

It's been far too long since I've enjoyed lunchtime music like this!

I do have one question though. The R1 seems like it might be a little fussy about tag information. Does anyone have guidelines about how music should be tagged to avoid friction?

"Data centers causing electricity price increases" WHY?

If data-centers are hogging up electrical capacity WHY is everyone paying more? It seems to me that the data-centers should be paying for it not Joe Average at his house. If more capacity is needed for the data-centers specifically then they should be paying to have that constructed sholdn't they?

KOreader... I think my head just exploded (LOL)

So it's a nice problem to have but I think KOreader made my head explode due to all the options. I've got my corner actions set to my satisfaction, now I want to dig in and make a "bookshelf" page that looks good with the Kobo Clara Color. (after I put my head back together).

I'm going mad trying to penetrate the "sales-speak" in my search.

I used to use a tape-based microrecorder. If you needed to record something you pushed the record button and it started recording...immediately. I used it for all kinds of engineering notes and comments and even more when I started doing inspections.

I'm back in that kind of field so I bought a digital voice recorder and.... it has to boot back up every freaking time I go to use it. The record button is almost like an afterthought, indistinct from the other buttons, small, and placed among other buttons.

Is there ANYTHING out there that is "keychain sized" that will just start recording without menus or boot up/wake up time? It would be an amazing bonus if it actually did transcription but that can really wait until I go back to a PC at the end of the inspection so it's not vital.
