This gulping, flat performance is such a sharp difference from the eventual masterful sweetness and control he developed. Paddy had clearly found some strength by the time of Swoon, but it seems like Thomas Dolby really provided the direction he needed. A testament to both of their genius!

dog shit (literal)

I cannot believe how much dog shit I see in public spaces on a regular basis, often right around the stations with free pickup bags and a trash can. I realize it's a minority that is the problem, but that's still too many people not fulfilling a basic responsibility. Gotta love how some of the laziest and self-centered people out there have dogs (and children, for that matter)

The fallacy of assumed virtue

I've had some hard lessons in recent years that I thought might be worth sharing. About six years ago I moved to a new city, and figured I would try to get involved with communities associated with interests that had become important to me, far-left politics and/or veganism. I still would accept these descriptions of myself as they do broadly represent my beliefs, but as far as compatibility goes, they may as well be liking the same song.

My discernment was poor and I made the error of believing such empathy-leaning politics would translate into more empathetic people, but I experienced the same othering that I would in any context. I lived and worked at an animal sanctuary for a while and was subtly belittled for my difficulties which were few and far between, and later learned the person running it would regularly talk shit about me while taking credit for things I did, and worst of all, sold cows she had rescued for slaughter because she got annoyed with their care needs. Another living situation with people who would say they're as left as left can be brought what I believe was an unacceptable lack of patience. They were harsh, condescending, and when I tried to express my desire for affirmation and love, they would dismiss my feelings because I'm "mentally ill" (said with a smile to show how supportive they were being).

The point I'm trying to make is, a lot of what we might seek from other people is unquantifiable, and it's always going to be on a person-by-person basis. It feels like an obvious lesson to me now but labels really don't mean anything, in the same way that all of us being labeled as autistic, ND, etc. don't actually say anything about who we are and how we behave.

Still searching for my people. I know a place of genuine love and peace is out there.

Words are powerless unless you give them power, so it's okay for me to call you the r-word

In conclusion, any hurt you might feel is invalid due to my genius logic and reasoning

It feels like almost everyone is aggressively obsessed with being "right" on the internet

This obviously applies with the larger social part of the internet but niche fandoms I get into also tend to devolve into this to some degree, which usually depresses me out of participation entirely...

It just feels like pretty much no one is curious, and their main objective is to be superior. Put a half-thought take out there and defend it to the death. Any challenge, no matter how gentle, will usually result in heels being dug in and personal insults. Everyone superficially celebrates differences until they encounter someone who is actually different than them. All this is over petty, non-hateful stuff, like opinions about a video game, or usage of slang. The ego feels out of control. I feel a bit misanthropic sometimes with all my mental stuff, but it seems like it pales in comparison to the rancour and condescension I see on a regular basis, like every poster *hates* other posters and are just waiting to let loose. There's no personal growth that can come from this mindset, just toxicity and hurt.

I know not everyone on the internet is like this. I don't claim my feelings are accurate. But I've been on the internet now for close to 30 years, and I really don't know why I bother getting into the social aspect at all, because it's pretty much inevitable someone will hurt my feelings. Nowhere is safe, people IRL are scary, and people online are actively hurtful a lot of the time. I don't want to be alone but it feels like I have to be to not feel like crap all the time

Failing the Church Shivers check, and a seizure?

Hello, I'm trying to confirm something I've read a few times but never saw proof of. Supposedly if you fail the Shivers check while dancing at the church that would otherwise lead to a conversation with La Revacholiere, Harry will have a seizure, leading to some information that he's prone to them and often has wild bursts of imagination beforehand.

Is this true, or a runaway rumor someone made up? It's on TVTropes but any old schmuck can add bad info on there.

Upcoming Speed SSRs for someone with barely any

Hello, so the only MLB SSR speed I have is Fukukitaru, and her lack of Spec Priority can be brutal sometimes. My next best would be my 3* SR's Sweepy and Windy. I favor Pace and End. Highest ranks I've trained have been a couple S+'s.

I'm pretty sold on trying for MLB Tachyon coming up. For Summer Maru, even though I don't prefer Fronts, my understanding is I should go for at least 1*? Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

Why does Winning Ticket always have a bandage on her cheek?

Does she have a persistent pimple? Is she a big fan of 2000s R&B artist Nelly?
