Wanting to get into Cloud Engineering What Language to Learn

Hello all,

I’m currently in service desk but wanting to get into cloud engineering. Right now I’m teaching myself AZ900 and GitHub to build a portfolio. I’ve seen videos on YouTube talking about need to learn Python for cloud computing but heard others I should learn PowerShell and BASH since I’ll be scripting. So I went to the job market and seeing some jobs recommending PowerShell, BASH, Python, C#, C++, and Go so far.

So I figure I should ask the people of Reddit who works in Cloud engineering on what language I should I should be teaching myself

Is Lumo Plus Worth It?

Hello all

I’m on the unlimited plan of Proton and love Proton as a service. I’ve tried the new Lumo when it was first out, didn’t like it. Once Proton made a major update I really liked it. I’m using ChatGPT Plus right now and I’ve been going back and forth on using ChatGPT Plus vs Lumo Plus (mainly to keep chat History).

I want to know is Proton Lumo Plus worth it. I mainly want it because it’s cheaper, want to continue supporting Proton, and wanting to keep chat history. I’ve been using AI for my day-to-day life

Soon to Be New Devuan User

Hello all,

I recently started using Debian Testing and really liking it. But I just saw my state just sign a bill to require OSes for age verification by 2028. I know that’s 2 years but I want to find something that won’t allow age verification.

Other than Devuan being systemD free, is it any different to Debian? Also what’s some tips when using i?

New to Kindle and Jailbreak it

Hello all,

I’ve been wanting to get an Ebook to get into reading or keeping my IT books in 1 place. I’ve been avoiding Kindle because I dislike Amazon until I saw a Kindle 11th gen for $110 (using my BestBuy certification it pretty much paid my tax for it). Cheaper than Kobo but still unsure about getting it. Until I saw the jailbreaking community.

I jailbroken as soon I picked it up and got the basic tool to get it jailbroken. Downloaded (don’t remember the name) an app to download Anna Archive books. What are some recommendations apps or tweaks I should do with my new Kindle to love it even more.

Debating on Using Solus

Hello all,

I haven’t used Solus in a long time, since Ikey Doherty was the main developer. Since he left I never heard or seen updates to Solus and thought the community was dead. Fast forward I saw there was a Solus update to version and was shock that it’s still be going and really strong.

I’ve been using Fedora and starting to have little issues here and there, seeing how live and active the updates and community is thinking about hopping back on. What are reasons why you stick with Solus?

Hello all,

I've been using US Mobile for about a year. My girlfriend and I decided to try out T-Mobile Home Internet because when I was living with my dad T-Mobile Home Internet was really good. Right now we are a free trial got the router Saturday.

What got me thinking about Metro is because I want to pay my phone bill and home Internet in 1 bill. I'm pay for US Mobile $25/m and Metro I'm going for the $30/m and of course link my phone plan with their home Internet. I want to know how are they as a service and why you stick with them

Other questions are

  1. I heard they use refreshing home Internet routers, are they using the black cylinder or the new router?
  2. How do I transfer my number, do I buy the $30/m BYOP plan and on the account page I can transfer my number?
