Is it worth it?

Might be a bit late to ask this, but I recently upgraded from my Iphone14 to an Iphone17e since my mom wanted me to have a new phone before I left for college and because my iPhone 14 doesn’t charge very fast and has REALLY BAD problems with overheating, but I did research (after getting the phone cuz I’m a stupid dumb dumb idiot) and I’ve seen people say they don’t like it and that it has problems with overheating as well

Is it worth it? I’m worried I’m going to switch and hate it, and I also am aware I also am stuck in the high school mindset that I think people are going to make fun of me for not having just an iPhone 17. Will people notice?

Does it really change something ?

I have my 17e for 1 week now and I charge it using low battery adapter (15w). I thought it would be better in order to save the battery life (not charging too fast for the chemical components).

However, a friend of mine told me I should use good quality chargers (so more powerful obviously) as it directly influence my battery.

What do you think ?

Just got a 17e

Had an iPhone 11 (I think) for years and dealt with a cracked screen and terrible battery forever.

What are some cool features that I may not know about?

Is Iphone 17 worth upgrading to ?

I am thinking to upgrade to iphone 17 currently, I am using iPhone 13. It’s working pretty good, but I am sceptical about whether to upgrade or not, what are the pros in the cons.

White or Pink?

Hi!

I need to update my iPhone 11 and I have (almost completely) made up my mind about getting the iPhone 17e over the iPhone 17, as for the (very) basic user that I am, I think 17e is more than enough and I can save £200! I also like that the design is lighter, especially regarding the cameras (which I find overly bulky on iPhone 17, maybe because I’m coming from the 11 and there a huuuuge difference and the camera on 17e is much sleeker).

Anyway, as the indecisive person that I am, if I decide to go for iPhone 17e, I still have to decide on the colour. When I got my purple iPhone 11 I found it a bit of a headache to find cases to match it, so I would always say I would get the next one in white. However, after almost 7 years I’ve made peace with it and I know if I got the 17 I’d get it in purple again. But with 17e, even though I originally thought I would get the pink without a doubt, then started having second thoughts because of the case-matching reason and was almost settled on that, until I saw it at the store yesterday… Oh, the pink is such a beautiful shade! And now I really don’t know what to do!!

need some advise

Hello guys! I’m thinking about buying a new phone, but I’m really confused between the iPhone 17 and 17e.

I can get the iPhone 17 for around ₹79,950 ($836), while the 17e would cost me about ₹59,950 ($627).

My main priority is longevity — I want a phone that can comfortably last me at least 7 years. I also actually prefer the single-camera aesthetic of the 17e, and I already have a dedicated camera for taking photos, so the camera setup on the phone isn’t a huge priority for me.

Given that, is the extra ₹20,000 for the iPhone 17 worth it, or would the 17e be the better choice for me?

Public beta 3 is incredibly fast (17e)

Apple had very efficient and fast software, which wasn’t too heavy on the chip to launch apps and navigate, however ios 26 was so inefficient and it was just less smoother and more heavy to use leading to a not entirely smooth UI, the occasional lag and not Apple standards lately.

However iOS 27 seems to have brought that back! Glad the engineers fixed up the OS and made it much more efficient and polished. It’s so quick and made the phone so much faster (an inefficient os is no longer hindering the power of the chip and now it does everything so smooth and fast. Super!)

The app icon designs and increased clarity, the on device Siri AI bubble which actually works and is very capable and helpful.

Amazing update overall. Made the phone so much better to operate and more capable.

Can I safely charge my iPhone 17e with a 45W USB-C adapter?

Hey everyone, I recently got an iPhone 17e and already have a 45W USB-C charger.
Apple says the 17e supports fast charging with a 20W adapter or higher, but I wanted to check with people who actually use a higher-wattage charger.
Can I use the 45W adapter regularly without affecting the battery health? Will the iPhone simply draw the power it needs, or is there any reason to stick to a 20W charger?

Thanks in advance

Perception of Stability vs Reality - Switching from Pixel

After having nothing but issues and spending hours upon hours troubleshooting my current device, I stumbled across the 17e model and it appears to be exactly what I'm looking for. A quick rundown:

I want a phone that functions as a baseline. I want a good or better than good camera that doesn't take muddy, blurry, badly processed photos. I want a UI that doesn't interrupt my activity with unnecessary steps, blocking apps, popups, and advertising.

I want to stay connected to wifi and cellular data through an entire day without dropping signal dozens of times at random. I would like settings that stay optimized and do not re-set themselves after booting or restarting the phone. I'd like an interface that I can use communications, send photos/attachments, scroll socials, browse the internet, and play some light games if any at all. I'd like a device that I don't have to charge twice a day in under 3 years. I'd like a device that doesn't completely break something new every time there's an update.

I do not need the maximum powered phone. I like the idea of going backward a bit and having a straight up phone, like I used to have 6 to 8 years ago.

Sorry for the weird formatting, I'm just exhausted by a very bad user experience and want to get back to general functionality. I'm going to try out 17 and 17e in-store sometime soon, just wondering how the day to day experience is. Like I said, I just want a phone that doesn't have to be thought about.

Thanks!!

Battery Life is Impressive

So, it’s currently 7:40am Sunday, after I haven’t charged this phone since about 7pm friday night!

I am not a power user by any means, I scroll socials, listen to music, text people and also make phone calls however I’ve done this exact same routine on other phones and it can barely last me the day.

So at the 1.5 day mark, it is genuinely possible to get two days out of this phone between charges.

This phone I suppose is considered some form of minimalist in 2026, if you don’t use your camera much (if at all) and you don’t throttle the refresh rate and you’re like Dynamic Island Who? there is really nothing wrong with this phone and in fact it is quite impressive.

People read too much into the spec sheets and I get it you want the best value but sometimes it’s just not worth your while to pay extra just because its value- Pay for what you use.

If your plans change and start taking more photos then either get a digital camera or a refurbished pro phone - don’t pay for “just in case”

iPhone 17e and 14 can use the same case

Just upgraded my iPhone 14 to a 17e and was pleasantly surprised to find that I can use the same case. This is the hot tip if you don’t wanna spend $50 on a new case, just search eBay for cases for the 14.

17E opinion-review for people new to Apple

If you are like me comming from Android (always having Samsung Galaxy or Xiaomi phones) first thing you'll notice is how similar is to Android! From control center to widgets and keyboards if you opt out to something like SwiftKey. You can custumize iOS to your liking as I did and I feel as if Ive never left the google ecosystem.
Now the hardware benefits and gripes with the 17e. First thing you notice how much faster and smoother everything is. Ive traded the 120hz of Galaxy for the 60hz here but good os and chip will always beat refeesh rate for me. The phone wont throttle on you in your day to day use EVER. However my main issue with Apple is VERY agressive throttling of the screen brightness independent of auto brightness settings. I had no phone on adroid where I wont have control over its brightness! This is new and a bit frustrating. Which in a way I undestand why this might be bigger issue on 17e. Its a small phone with chasis made for weaker CPU and not the A19. The next smaller base phones definety need reworked cooling system.
However the phone works and its already evident it wont break on you like Samsungs do. You can fully rely on it for work and enjoy AAA pc games such as Resident evil 2 remake and Control. Another thing to mention as downside there is this scammy thing Apple does where oled panels are random and different by different suppliers LG or Samsung. My wife with 16e has clearly better, brighter Samsung panel with better punchier colors and better viewing angles opposed to mine with LG. The only plus LG panels have if you get one like mine is whiter whites but that depends what you percieve as better.

Question about going from Pro Max series to 17e

After using a Pro Max for the last few years, I want to try something different and switch to the 17e.
I actually like the photo samples from the 17e single camera, but I'm still wondering about a few things. How hard is it to go back to a 60Hz display after ProMotion? Do you actually miss the extra camera lenses in daily life? Does the 17e last a full day on a single charge?

Phone overheating?

I had the 16e for most of 2025, and switched to the 17e in May after having the 17 Pro for a bit. No problems, have loved my phone all this time.

Don't know if I'm alone with this one, but lately, the phone has been heating up a bit too much when charging, while doing simple things like texting or watching Youtube videos, and just now I updated the phone to iOS 26.6 and when it finished, it was hot enough to make holding it uncomfortable.

Anyone else having similar issues? I can blame summer heat but it's only been like two weeks of overheating issues while summer heat in Florida basically started two months ago.

17e hate is forced

Snazzy Labs made a video on using budget Apple products and using them for a month. His takes on 17e segment seemed very inaccurate, here’s why.
I purchased the 17e at the same time as my boy who got the 16Pro(brand new). The only thing that the 16pro does better is it takes better pictures. That’s it. The battery dies bc 6 hours of out door summer use whereas my 17e can last damn near 2 days on a single charge. He mentioned this phone over heats but I’ve never encountered that other than the first 2 days of purchasing the phone. I am on the beta ios 27 and this phone is even faster now.
I’m using the unreleased Apple Intelligence features they work great!
Thoughts on take?
