Town Hall Thursday (virtual) - Disability Rights

Town Hall Thursday (virtual) - Disability Rights

Hey y'all it's me again the Town Hall scouter 😄

Mike DeCillis is hosting another town hall - this one on Thursday evening at 7pm. You only need to RSVP and you'll be given zoom access.

Here's what he posted about it (I'll put the link in the first reply though, and it's on the image):

"Federal cuts have been made to important programs impacting the disability community, and the DOJ’s actions on Olmstead v. L.C. threaten the disability community’s living rights.

Join me on Thursday evening for a virtual town hall to learn how this impacts residents in Staten Island and South Brooklyn. Link 🔗 in bio to RSVP.

Last 2 days of Early Voting with Sample Ballot

Today and tomorrow (Saturday and Sunday) are the last days of early voting. Polls are open from 9am to 5pm. A sample ballot here shows what you can expect to see on yours. Only the area highlighted on the little map will have State Senator candidates. All sites will have State Comptroller and Congressional Representative.

Early voting sites are often different from our designated Election Day sites. You can find your site by entering your address into:

https://findmypollsite.vote.nyc/

It will show your EARLY voting location and your ELECTION DAY location, so be sure to notice both.

After Sunday, there will be no more early voting and you can vote on Election Day (Tuesday) from 6am to 9pm.

The primary election is only for registered Democrats. There are no local Republicans having primaries this cycle.

Primary Elections coming

Just saw in the wild that democratic voters may be confused about the CONGRESSIONAL primary in SI.

**Mike DeCillis** - whom we've talked about since at least last year - is **the ONLY active candidate** on the ballot. The other candidate tried to withdraw "for health reasons" and the BoE said nah.

So now- if you're a registered democrat and you **want to have a candidate on your November ballot- you'll have to vote in this primary.**

Early voting starts June 13th. You should have received the alert from board of elections.

**Questions?**

Saw this in my basement a couple of days ago on a pile of fabrics. Northeast U.S.

Had mice a few years ago and haven't seen any - nor any signs of them since (have 2 cats, one of whom will DEFINITELY alert me if there are mice.) The mice droppings were easy for me to ID. This - if it's scat - is white though, and larger (say 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.)

When I saw it, I only got creeped, photographed it, and bailed; I had a toddler waiting for me and didn't want to stick around for the kid to encounter a pest, if any. TIA!
