2K vs 4K for Ring outdoor cameras — is the price difference really worth it?

I’m looking to get a few Ring outdoor cameras and I’m trying to decide between 2K and 4K models.
For those who have tried both, do you feel the difference in image quality is actually worth the extra cost?
I’m mainly looking for good image quality during the day and at night, and being able to clearly identify someone if needed.
Would you go straight for 4K, or is 2K more than enough for typical home security?

New Ring user (PoE setup): 24/7 continuous recording vs motion-only?

Hey everyone,

I just installed my Ring cameras and I'm currently setting everything up. They are all hardwired via PoE (Power over Ethernet), so battery life and Wi-Fi stability aren't an issue.

I'm trying to figure out the best recording configuration for daily use: 24/7 continuous recording or stick strictly to motion-triggered recording?

Since this is my first Ring setup, I'd love to get some community feedback:
* With a PoE setup, is it worth going straight to 24/7 recording, or is motion detection responsive enough?
* Does motion-only recording ever miss the very beginning of an important event?
* Based on your experience, which setup would you recommend starting out with?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

27 years as a founder, ended in total burnout & depression. Now what? Need stories from people who walked this path.

Sold my business recently, and to be honest, I’m completely lost.
I spent 27 years building and running my company. Managed a lot of people, dealt with constant fires, and quite frankly, it’s the only life I’ve ever known. I was an entrepreneur, period. That was my whole identity.
Towards the end, I ran myself straight into the ground. Full burnout, severe depression, crippling anxiety. I had to sell just to survive.
Now the dust is settling, the phone isn't ringing, the stress is gone, but I’m staring at a total blank page while still feeling mentally and physically broken. Going from 100 mph to a dead standstill overnight is messing with my head way more than I expected.
If you’ve sold a business after decades of grinding—especially if you left on a low note health-wise:
How long did it actually take for your brain to recover from the burnout?
How did you deal with losing your identity overnight?
What did you end up doing with your life once you got your energy back?
Just looking for real, raw experiences from people who’ve been through this specific transition. Thanks.

How did you actually quit Pepsi?

I’m Canadian and I’ve been drinking about 3 cans of Pepsi a day for quite a while. I’m really trying to quit, but honestly, it’s harder than I expected.
I don’t even keep Pepsi at home anymore, thinking that would help. But almost every day, I end up going to the convenience store to buy some anyway. So clearly, that strategy isn’t working very well. 😅
What I find hardest to replace is the feeling of well-being and satisfaction I get when I drink a Pepsi. I’ve tried different alternatives, but I haven’t found anything that gives me quite the same feeling.
Over the years, I’ve also gained a significant amount of weight, and I’m starting to feel the impact on my health. That’s what is really motivating me to make a change now.
For those of you who used to drink several cans of Pepsi/Coke every day:
How did you actually manage to quit or seriously cut back?
Did you find a drink that genuinely helped you make the transition? Sparkling water, Pepsi Zero, something else?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who actually went through this and succeeded, rather than just “drink water.” 😅
