educated guesses

i've been giving mocks and scoring 70-73% on the last 3. but i feel like MOST of the answers are educated guesses and I don't feel 100% sure answering anything really. is that how most of yall feel about the exam or just me? i am worried because my scores are on the borderline.

what works for me

  1. long nail extensions- you can't grip onto individual hairs if your nails are long enough- and they look great. if you think your pulling has increased, go to the nail salon. (if i did this all the time i believe i'd never pull at all but i can't do it all the time because im a bisexual guitarist)

  2. get rid of the tweezers - sometimes i'd just buy new ones. but when i realise howmuch i am plucking and the guilt sets in, i break them and throw them away. don't just hide them. throw them away.

  3. wash your hair more than you need to- hair feels less yummy and scabs don't turn scabby

  4. hair regrowth serum- when you hand goes up to your scalp, feeling the serum on it reminds you that it is regrowing - don't really wanna disturb that. (similar to how you don't touch your face after skincare/makeup)

  5. mentally preparing myself before stressful times- eg- if you have an important deadline, acknowledge that you might pull more during that week- helped me

  6. being around people/ in public- study/work at cafes instead of at home, watching movies in the living room (i live with flatmates) instead of watching in my room. - this was less effective that the rest cuz you will still wanna do stuff in your own space at some point.

add to this list!

what do you think of artists that use licensed type beats?

what do you think of artists using licensed type beats off of online beat-stores and youtube type beats?I think it is okay as long as they're licensed. But,

is it inauthentic and unoriginal?

since you don't know who made it and probably add nothing personal to the beat itself? it's like writing and recording on a piece of music instrumental made by a stranger? you don't know what this said stranger has sampled and worse u don't know if it is AI...I feel like anyone can write and record over a type beat and make it sound commercial with the right engineering.

permanent solutions for a seemingly permanent problem

- bald on the top of my scalp-basically half my head. (luckily i still have my hairline and really thick curly hair so a bandanna/cloth hairband works. even a half up half down pony works with some black spray)- but those are the only ways i can do my hair :( i am someone who like to play with my style and not being able to do my hair the way i want to

- will start my first corporate job soon and don't wanna wear a bandanna with shirt and trousers.

- at the risk of sounding vain, as a conventionally pretty girl, people always saying "you look finne , ur outfit fire, loose the bandanna cuz not every outfit needs it" hurts especially when i know theyre right- but i can't tell them i wouldn't wear the bandanna if i wasn't bald.

- considered buying a hair-topper but my hair is thick, black and curly and i believe a topper will not match my texture and id rather have people see me in a bandanna everyday than a bad topper. salons would have to customize their toppers to have it fit my hair type- so if it doesn't work for me, i can't return it and it's money down the drain. so im apprehensive about it

- don't want to go bald- (only time i AI generated a picture was to see how i look bald- it is bad. also don't see a lot of bald women with corporate jobs- i dont want to prove a point at work- there's a stigma and if i can avoid it i will) - sure about it.

- wigs (i don't know much about) are high maintenance. (what i have seen is sticking a laceon ur hear everyday- won't be able to do that at all)- don't know nothing about it.

- when i am stressed about something (exams, work, projects) my priority is to do the best/most perfect job and in the moment, i dont care if i loose hair during it. i only feel like shit about pulling AFTER having pulled out my hair after i am done with my work and bald asl. - i dont think pulling is stopping anytime soon. even when it stops (rarely), it always comes back. So i need a more permanent solution and i am willing to even throw money at it ( cuz it is a long term problem- not CRAZY money but yea)

- ANY solutions are welcome. (also, I stay in australia so if someone knows australian salons/solutions, pls help out)

my college won't let me into their job placement program IF I DONT "PASS" AI INTERVIEWS??!!

so this platform is built by a masters alumnus. AI reports are mandatory for all students for internships and placement. they said to Submit 5 reports (reports of a mock ai interview ), each with a minimum score of 80%. they said "While still in its early stages, the platform is functioning effectively and has now been integrated into your Professional Readiness Program (PRP) assessment.".

my concerns: Has the platform been independently validated for accuracy?

What evidence supports using an 80% threshold?

What factors contribute to the score?

How consistent are scores across repeated attempts?

Is there an appeal process if students believe the score is inaccurate?

Are accommodations available for students with disabilities or anxiety?

How is interview data stored, and who has access to it?

Is this score being used only for training, or does it affect placement eligibility?

mainly, Is it ethical use of AI to deploy and mandate something this platform and not disclose ANY of the above to the students using it??

I can't explain why the longest time i went WITHOUT pulling was during the worst, most traumatic time in my life

i been pulling since i was very young (id pull more during stressful times-exams, etc. ) but the first and longest time i went without pulling was when i was going through the most traumatic event i have lived through (bad like i wanted to delete myself). i usually never even cry no matter how bad things got but this incident had me breaking down 7 times a day.

(yes, during this time, i was going to therapy a lot and on anti-psychotic meds but that was mostly just to understand the event that had happened and regulate from that particular incident-crisis management- the meds didn't really help my mental state far as i could tell and stopped soon after)

the thing is i was in therapy previously too and it never had an effect on my trich-never stopped pulling because i started therapy. I have even been on meds before and they never really helped. so i think that it was something about that event that caused me to stop pulling. like my hair grew back in those 3 months so beautifully i went to the hairdresser for the first time in years.

is it possible that i stopped pulling because during that time my priorities had completely shifted to survival? like was my brain overloaded with that trauma and it was not (even subcomciously) thinking of pulling? was i so traumatized that pulling had left the chat completely? cuz that incident is the only thing i thought about 24/7. or was it because i was dealing with my emotions and had an excuse to feel sad and break down for the first time in my life? or was it because i was so hopeless, that my brain did not think pulling could bring me comfort?

because after the incident, when i started to get over it and heal, the pulling came back just like usual.

if yes, what does it mean about my ability to stop pulling? what can i give my brain to replicate the hold that that incident had on me? how is it that the one time i knew i was going through a lot and knew i was prolly going to start pulling a lot, i completely stopped?

has anyone else seen their pulling stop/reduce during times like this? can someone help me find the reason for this? is there a scientific explanation for this? or was it just coincidence?
