Naeza skia but siezi ongea
When I was young I thought speaking in mother tongue was backward, I was born and raised in town my parents spoke dholuo and that's how I came to know it but they always spoke to me in swahili so I never felt the pressure to learn how to speak it , I think even the schooling system in Kenya promotes the same which should be worked on if we want to preserve our heritage
Fast forward I have found a girl who I'd want to marry she is luo and raised in the rural area she speaks good swahili and English the problem is her mum doesn't I have heard how she speaks with her mum as they make fun of the few swahili words she knows .
Now she recently told her mum about me and it got me wondering how will I talk to her with my dholuo which sounds strange I know every word but the moment it leaves my mouth it sounds nothing like dholuo omg I'm so cooked
Anyway wacha niskize princr Indah nione kama itasaidia
