I genuinely do not understand this game and it’s driving me insane

I have not crossed over 100 hours in Deadlock already, but I also have 5000+ hours in League and hit high ranks in multiple shooters (Masters in Apex, CS, Overwatch, etc.), so I’m not new to MOBAs or aim-heavy games.

But in Deadlock I contribute literally nothing almost every game. Lowest kills, most deaths, lowest player damage, lowest objective damage, lowest souls by a mile, and my aim/movement is beyond laughably atrocious. It feels like I’m playing a completely different game from everyone else.

I’ve been sticking to what I know from League fundamentals: farm waves, don’t waste time, take jungle camps when there’s nothing to farm, etc. But the issue never goes away.

I watch guides, use practice tool, tried basically every “beginner” character people recommend, and eventually just started playing Lash and Mina because if I’m gonna suck I’d rather at least play characters I enjoy.

The thing that really gets me is I don’t understand WHY I’m failing. Like on Mina I can follow a top-rated build from build finder, get full build, and I feel like I literally do no damage at all and die instantaneously. I can’t tell what I’m doing differently or what everyone else understands that I don’t.

I think that’s the real problem: I fundamentally do not understand this game at all, and I can’t figure out what I’m missing. Any advice from people who struggled early but eventually “got it” would help a lot. This game is so god damn fun I don't need to be eternus but I want to contribute meaningfully to the games I find myself in.

Anyone hit with both the Head Squared and Yonex Muse 100?

Trying to decide between them as a newer player (~3.0), but more importantly just want to gauge public opinion because I keep seeing they are aimed at the same type of player, but spec wise and the reviews I have seen they don't seem that alike.

  • Which is better for beginners?
  • Which is better long-term as you improve?
  • More comfortable/arm friendly?
  • More power? spin? control?

Just looking for real opinions/experiences before I demo. Appreciate it.
