Hello brain bonk friends. I know the GI question has come up before as there is so much connection to the brain and gut processes.
I am 3.5 ish years out from my initial injury and finally have enough bandwith to tackle the next of many chronic health issues that have emerged from this incident: chronic constipation (yay...).
I was referred to a GI nurse practitioner for initial evaluation and she's having me do a Sitzmark Test to evaluate for possible slow transit constipation (formerly known as neuronal intestinal dysplasia). If that comes back unremarkable, the next evaluation would be for pelvic floor dyssynergia (not a fun evaluation). She said that both these things can be associated with TBI and also trauma generally.
Curious if anyone has gone through this type of process and your experience with diagnosis or treatment?
just had to put it in a box 😂
my mans went into do-not-disturb mode in front of the shower. it’s cool i will just shower tomorrow instead.
