We have reached the happy ending (for now) of Dragon’s journey, thanks to all of you!

For those who haven’t seen Dragon before, u/bananananannanaa posted about him last week, trying to find a home for a sweet FeLV+ boy in Indiana who got scratched up by other strays. They had rescued him out of the kindness of their heart but needed to find a home — especially because shelters typically put down FeLV+ cats. My own cat has feline leukemia and when I read that, I immediately had to help him.

I commented that I could take him but had to figure out a way to get him to Chicago. Well then a literal angel — u/Cyanidesuicideml — said they could drive him, despite not living close by. They drove I believe 15 hours up to Ft. Wayne, over to Chicago, and then back home, giving him lots of love the whole way. Not only that, but a ton of people here on Reddit chipped in for gas.

I wasn’t sure if I could keep Dragon permanently right now because it’s so sudden and we also had to check on his medical state, but I do know that Tree House Humane Society in Chicago has FeLV+ kitties, is no-kill, and one of my good friends is a vet there (shoutout Dr. Princess!). He told me that a spot had actually just opened up!

So Dragon stayed at my place for a few days, chilling in a bathroom and sleeping off Gabapentin. He opened up last night, meowing to get my attention and then demanding snuggles and headbutts. He hates a carrier to the point that you just CAN’T get him into it so I had to carry him like a baby to and from the apartment. I basically had to hold him like a Squishmallow when we drove to the shelter today because he was so curious about the AC and dashboard.

He’s safely in Tree House’s hands and my partner and I are going to visit at the first possible opportunity (and maybe give our cat a brother once he’s healed up). I’m so lucky that I got to meet this boy and be a part of his journey!!!

The pretty kitty is really annoyed, that he is not allowed outside in the morning rain, while we eat breakfast.

This is how he shows it - in stoic suffering.... When he is not screaming and yelling, sitting by the front door. Or pushing his "stop" button, so we stop eating...

Artemis. She’s been in our home healthy for 3 months and has had zero shedding or allergy issues, dander, etc. and is playful like a puppy! I’ve never seen or met a kitten like her. She passes the silver test on her paws and her cheekbones are literal V’s. Her eyes are turning green from yellow and I estimate her age (I work with Vets and have some input) at about 4 months. She is a joy unlike anything else and I am a proud dog person with my first time saying she found her own home or well it was chosen for her but she is healthy and PLAYFUL! And so, so sweet! I would love to know who and what she is because she is truly so beautiful and like, pretty? She’s just stunning and I want to have that info for her diet and medical etc. as well.!

For the first time in the 5 years I’ve had her, Bella used my sleeping body as a jungle gym last night. She would meow loud enough to wake me up, as if her jumping on me didn’t work. She’s too cute to be mad at. I love my baby, but I hope she lets me sleep tonight.

I had a kind redditor pay for my room while I was transporting dragon when i got there.I had to pay an extra seventy eight dollars or half the room cost, which no one was told about.

The first room had zero electricity.The second room smelled like cheech and chang were hot box it. In the third and last room in the hotel had yearn all over the floor toilet.And something in the sink, and they just gave me a cleaning cloth of disinfectant to clean it up.So dragon pretty much stayed in his crate or on the bed with me. Because i didn't trust the chemicals they were using. Im fucked out of 78 bucks. I still don't really clean!

The littlest guy was only .3 lbs (other siblings were closer to 1lb).

I love how all nebs start out kind of skrunkly. When I got her she was missing a whole bunch of hair on her neck and it would just stick out everywhere.

I've been a lurker for a while but thought I would share a photo of our wonderful nebby Zoey (More formality known as ZoZo or the Baby Bean 💖)

She is turning 16 in August and I still refuse to believe she is that old! She is so spunky, sassy, and full of energy!

My partner adopted her at 10 years old from an abusive situation. She is the BIGGEST cuddle bug. :3 She is also a magic healer to her two chronic pain pet parents.

I can't believe how all of our babies look the same! Here's to many more years of kitty cuddles for all of us! 🥰
