Chameleon?

Okay guys, I really just need some good opinions. There’s a chameleon at the store I work at — she’s my best buddy. It’s a regular veiled chameleon, maybe 8 months old. Often when the tank gets too warm or when she starts frantically digging at the front of the glass, I’ll offer my hand to her. Whether she takes it or not is completely up to her (though she usually will).

I know reptiles don’t feel love or affection as we do and she likely recognizes that I both feed and won’t hurt her. She’s never puffed or hissed at me and she’s always light green with darker green stripes when she climbs around me. She loves hanging out on my head — likely because it’s the highest part of my body.

Be honest, should I set up a tank and bring her home? Or let someone else build trust with her and take her home? Is she going to hate me as she gets older — I’ve heard horror stories of that happening with veiled chameleons as they grow older because they’re more keen to isolation.

Again, I know chameleons are very sensitive, but idk if it would be the right or wrong choice to take her home with me.

(I might have also gendered her wrong, we haven’t had many male chameleons so I apologize if I did.)

Weird dog food we don’t carry?

So, we got a single bag of dog food with our truck today that we don’t carry. As far as I know, PetSmart doesn’t carry it at all. Does anyone know how or what happened? Do we share DC’s with other companies or something? I’ve never even heard of this brand 😭

Empty Tanks?

Maybe I’m just not knowledgeable enough in the fish keeping profession/hobby — but is there a reason so many tanks will be absolutely barren aside from the fish themselves? Like it’ll be filter; water; heater; and fish. There will be nothing else — not even substrate at the bottom. Is there a reason for this?

Now if you’re a breeder, yeah that makes sense. But I’m talking about hobby level fish keeping — not breeding.

I don’t need to see professional aquascaping because that can be hard, but is there a reason for keeping the fish in empty tanks?

Feeder Fish Cloudy Tanks

Okay so, normally our feeder fish ranks (4 total) are incredibly clear. The last couple of shipments we’ve received of feeder fish have ruined our water though.

One of my coworkers thinks it’s because they’ve sent us more bronze feeders, which can relate closer to carps.

We’ve cleaned our socks, filters, done half a million water changes, tested, and treated with just about any chemical necessary. Even still, the water is cloudy and our fish are definitely suffering because of it. I’m actively draining the water as I write this.

Is there something we’re missing??

Now…I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s dumb as fuck to leave a bag of your OWN trash inside of one of the PetSmart carts because it’s conveniently outside. Do they think I’m going to happily take it inside for them??? I’ve already had a shit-show day and they wanna leave their trash in our carts now on top of the people who don’t even clean up after their dogs?? 😭 Get over yourself, I’m so tired
