Difference between 300 v 400mg iron infusion?

I’m getting my 3 iron infusion this week. I have the option of getting 300 or 400 mg. I prefer to get the 400mg, but I’m wondering whether that’s when people started having symptoms?

My last two infusions were for 200mg, spaced two weeks apart. My doctor won’t allow me to get the more frequently, which is why I feel like I need to get 400mg.

Any advice? Starting Ferritin: 26.

Separately, if you’re in the Bay Area, I can recommend my doctor for iron infusions. Perks: his wonderful hospitality and availability to sometimes do Saturday appoints. Plus, it’s a quick process as he doesn’t need an outside doctor referral. I also think his prices are reasonable, despite the $300 first visit fee. Cons: doesn’t take insurance as far as I know.

The most obvious reason why Julie’s bookmarking attempt failed:

The clearest reason Julie’s bookmark did not work. Stick with me – this should not take long and is hopefully fairly intuitive.

“Fred replied, ‘You have to create a bookmark.’ Fred discovered that by leaving a bookmark somewhere in the story, he could choose whatever chapter he wished to visit.” This is all we got regarding the bookmarking process. Since Fred is the storywalker, and here it is Julie storywalking, we can replace “Fred” with “Julie.” Thus, in order for Julie to visit any chapter in the story, Julie herself (not Victor, or someone else, as some folks suggested) needs to create the bookmark and LEAVE IT. We do not get any more information regarding the rule than that, so let’s theorize logically.

The following explains why Julie’s bookmark failed - in short, the bookmark did not work because Julie did not properly leave it:

- Firstly, Julie dropped the bookmark in the middle of the street, and more importantly, directly in front of MiY. So tell me – if you leave a bookmark in a book, and while you are not looking I destroy your bookmark, then when you return to the book 15 minutes later, you obviously no longer have a bookmark. Likewise, if MiY sees Julie’s bookmark and knows its significance, he is probably going to destroy it. That is the first problem.

- The second issue also ties into how Julie could actually get (and probably will get) the bookmark to work. A bookmark is only useful if you are able to find it later. If you put a bookmark in a book and then someone takes said book and returns it to a massive, disorganized library, the bookmark is useless to you. Likewise, even assuming MiY did not destroy Julie’s bookmark, because it was left in the street, Julie was never going to be able to recover it. She effectively lost her place in the book.

Ok, still continuing with this thought, but let’s step back a bit: Remember when we were all talking about time travel? You cannot change the past – whatever will be, will be. Julie thought she could create a bookmark with the paper in her pocket, but the paper she had in her pocket was paper she got from a blank book (presumably). That paper was at the beginning of its lifecycle. She needs to find the aged version of that paper that she left in the past 40 years ago. But that would be difficult because she left it in the middle of the road. Who knows where it would be now, even assuming MiY did not immediately destroy it?

Thus, in order for Julie to make an effective bookmark, she needs to place it somewhere in the past where it will not be moved so that she can find it forty years later in the future.
It is possible that MiY did not understand the bookmark (especially, given that monsters don’t rely on things like bookmarks to act supernaturally) and simply left the bookmark in the street for Victor to pick up later on. Maybe Victor kept the bookmark all these years without even realizing its significance, and when Julie runs into it again and asks Victor where he got it from, that is when everything finally clicks. I don’t know, but it seems possible.

Anyway, had to share because this seems like the most logical and straightforward explanation. What do you think?

One potential wrinkle/unanswered question – which I am not positive will matter – is that I think the bookmark needs to be created on stationery, or something else, that already existed in the past. Just like Julie’s clothes are not left behind when she gets yanked out of the past by Randall, I do not think anything in her present-day pockets gets to stay in the past either. But I am not 100% sure about that.

98 —> 104lbs after two iron infusions and taking Geritol for one month.

I’ve always had very poor nutrition and have been underweight at 92–100 lbs at 5’4”. Seeing this weight gain (as well as this newfound energy) makes me think the infusions and iron supplementation that I started about a month ago are really working. My ferritin level was 26 in late April. I started supplementing at the beginning of April, had my bloodwork done on April 18, and got my first infusion on April 25. I realized I was onto something when I took Geritol’s liquid iron, and it was like night and day with respect to my energy levels. But it wasn’t until this week that I noticed I gained weight. (I have a naturally suppressed appetite — confirmed by my bloodwork — so I weigh myself a few times a week to make sure I’m eating enough and not losing weight.)

This post is merely a data point. It makes me quite hopeful that I will see new growth over the next few months.

For full transparency, I also started supplementing in other areas, but I’m assuming the infusions and Geritol are what caused me to gain weight. I know for a fact that it was Geritol that made me feel like a new woman with all this new energy. I’ve tried other iron pills in the past, and if they had half the effect I’ve experienced with Geritol, I would’ve kept taking them. I never see folks talk about Geritol (or MaryRuth, which is another liquid iron supplement) on this subreddit, so I wanted to mention it specifically.

Wishing all the ladies the best on this journey!

P.S., I put my diagnosis as other, since my diagnosis was from an online derm. I think it was AGA but I’m not sure.

Why are some self-professed Christians unable to accept that no one deserves heaven?

We see this at funerals, where people proclaim the righteousness and goodness of the decedent and promise they’re in a better place even if there was nothing to show they were truly saved. I even see it on Reddit: some professing Christians seem unwilling to accept the reality that most people will be sent to hell — and it is just that they are. That is bizarre to me, and I assume it stems from weak or false doctrines. So, it is worth reminding people that hell is a place all of us deserve. It is not unjust for people to go there. If God treated everyone according to what we deserve, He every single one of us would be in hell. Yet, in His mercy, He chooses to save His people. How do you feel comfortable telling Him He’s not done enough?

If you do not recognize that you deserve hell, then you do not understand your need for a Savior. If you deserved heaven, then why did Jesus have to die for you? If any of us deserved heaven, why was Christ’s sacrifice necessary? We do not deserve it. Salvation is a gift. The fact that anyone – even one person – experiences heaven displays God’s mercy, because that person would be entirely undeserving.

Separately, all of these questions about whether serial killers are in heaven are equally misguided. Serial killers deserve hell – just like you and I – because we are all born into sin. If even one of them is in heaven because God opened his eyes and allowed him to experience true repentance, that would display immense mercy. (Disclaimer: I am not convinced merely because someone claims to be Christian that they actually are, and I do not know how many serial killers, if any, are in heaven.)

TL;DR: If you are a Christian, why do you think you do not deserve hell? If you profess to be a Christian yet believe that you or certain people deserve heaven, then you have not recognized your need for a Savior, and that may be evidence that you are unregenerate.

P.S. I also think many responses to atheists’ questions about hell are weak. If you cannot accept that some people are in hell and that all people deserve it, then you have no business evangelizing anyone, because you have fundamentally misunderstood the significance and necessity of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and the depth of God’s mercy. And if you are suggesting that God’s mercy is somehow insufficient and needs to be supplemented by human standards of fairness, the same goes for you.

Excuse this being old news, but I’m going back through the series.

Initially, when Marielle arrived, the show nearly lost me because it was beyond cliché that right before the guy/Kenny gets the girl/Kristi, her ex shows up.

I’ve since gained more respect for the producers and realize how thoughtful they are, so I refuse to believe they would follow some cheap trope like that.

This leads me to believe that, for whatever reason, Kenny and Kristi cannot be together in the story. I think, for whatever reason, Kenny has to be lonely and/or not distracted.

Maybe the BiW or MiY orchestrated this.

Alternatively, maybe Marielle is part of the world and is there to control Kristi. It’s clear that Elgin was meant to come to the world, so maybe Marielle made sure to be on the bus with him so that she could enter Fromville. Then, not only that, she starts abusing drugs immediately so that Kristi would feel obligated to protect her. Most of this theory is probably wrong, but one thing I know is that the timing is too coincidental.

Generally, the story doesn’t seem to care about who is getting with whom, but the moment Kristi had the thought of choosing Kenny, the only thing that would’ve changed her mind happened: Marielle showed up that same day.
