Levi’s ribcage ankle straight

These seem way too baggy around the legs for me. The rise is comfortable but I worry they’ll stretch out too much with wear. These are in a size 24 x 27, I’d obviously have to get them hemmed either way. I was looking for something similar to my wedgie straight jeans but with a higher waist, I don’t think these are it!

Even Levis 501s are vanity sized now?

I always thought Levis 501 classic jeans were sized by actual waist measurement and inseam length. But lo and behold, my 501's from 2000 are waaaay smaller than the modern same size 26. The new ones have a waist of nearly 29"?!

They're the same style and cut as far as I can tell. I know this has probably been true for a long while, but I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone, being gaslit about how big an inch actually is.

In desperate need of tight fitting shirts

I don't know what to do anymore. It's so impossible for me to find clothing that actually fits anymore. I mostly like to wear band tees and I don't know when it happened but there's been a subtle shift in the sizing for it and it's driving me up the wall. I'm 5'6 and I weigh around 108 pounds. I also have slightly longer legs which doesn't help with my upper body proportions.

I'm non-binary so my style is pretty androgynous and I do prefer typical 'masculine' clothing that's even harder to find so I've been mostly looking at womens clothing sites and it's still too large. I legit only wear 3 shirts on repeat because it's the only thing I own that fits. I can go tighter but I typically like to wear shirts that are 16 across and 20-22 inches long. But the smallest size I ever see shirts go is 18 W and 28 L. Sometimes its okay as I can tuck it in otherwise it looks ridiculous on me.

Is there any sites or stores that actually sell xxs-xs clothing that's actually small and tight. I look and I look and I can't seem to find any. As long as it's nothing extremely feminine I'm at the point where i'll buy anything. Hell, even places with youth sizes that aren't boxy. If ya'll could recommend some places you've found that would be incredible. Thank you sm

Jeans

I got extremely sick at the beginning of the year and lost 25+ lbs and can’t gain it back. Needless to say, none of my clothes fit me. I’m in desperate search of jeans. My absolute favorites are the brand Mother but my normal size 23, swallows me and that’s the smallest size they offer. Does anyone have any recommendations for similar brands in smaller sizes? For reference I’m 5’3” 95 lbs

Disconcerting

Okay i ‘m an xxs myself with a 23”inch waist but it gets weird when certain people here moan about not being able to find jeans small enough for their waists. Like they almost want 20” inch waist jeans?
I am worried. i mean some people seem to be showing off their anorexia?

Am I actually a smaller size than I think I am?

Hi! I’m 26 and I’m trying to figure out what clothing size I actually am because I struggle with body dysmorphia and it really affects how I perceive my body.

My waist is 26 inches and my hips are 35 inches. I’m 1.50 m tall (about 4'11"). I mostly wear skirts, so I usually don’t pay much attention to my hip measurement when choosing clothes.

Depending on the brand, I can fit anywhere from XXS to M. I wear a lot of vintage clothing, and these sizes generally fit me well. However, because of my body dysmorphia, I sometimes convince myself that I need a size L, and that almost never works out for me. 😭

I know sizing varies a lot between brands, but I genuinely have a hard time understanding what size I should consider myself. Based on these measurements, would you say I’m generally in the XS/S range, or is there another way I should be looking at sizing?

I’d really appreciate some perspective because I feel like I’m completely unable to judge my own size accurately. Thank you! ♡

Anyone wants to share what you struggle most with when shopping?

I've been building a free website specifically designed to make shopping easier for petites, and over time, it's been so rewarding to hear from people who say they've found it helpful 🥹

Now, I really want to make it even better and more useful for everyone. So if there's something you run into when shopping as a petite, I'd genuinely love to hear your struggles and hopefully turn some of them into actual features! 💗 I won't share the website since that may go against community rules!

Winter jackets.

What are some of your favourite winter/cold weather jackets and coats that are both warm and size appropriate. I find most winter jackets to be too big on my frame that it looks almost awkward with the shoulders being too wide or the overall fit being too puff.

Not all men who are attracted to small women are pedophiles but we need to talk about the ones who are

Also TRIGGER WARNING FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT⚠️

Obviously we all know that just because a grown man is attracted to a small woman, that does not mean he's a pedophile.

However there are absolutely adult men who will go out of their way to pursue women who are legally adults but are small and/or baby faced because in their sick heads, they view us as akin to children and easy targets to take advantage of. I have had men admit this to me. One of them was my ex boyfriend who told joked that he didn't mind being perceived as a pedophile due to this preference. This joke haunted me and would make me feel really disgusted with myself. I didn't hate how I look but I loathed this comparison. He claimed he didn't mean it like that. But as time unfolded, I learned that he was liking images of child pornography and in the past had dated a minor as an adult. I looked through his following list and it was multiple half naked minors. I told my friend and she said I hate to say it but many of them have your body type.

I have had men tell me go on about how easily they could r*pe me or break my bones because of my size and but then remind me that they were a "good guy" because they wouldn't actually do that. (Two of them did the former)

I saw a comment on another post claim that Jameela Jamil is "insecure" for pointing out that the beauty standard is rooted in pedophilia. While I don't always agree with the way Jameela says certain things, she is not wrong when men like the ones I mention exist.

I've had friends who are literal sex workers and see the absolute worst of men agree with the sentiment. There's one (not friends with her just a content creator) who made a video mentioning that one of the most common fantasies is men wanting to play out fantasies of them f*cking their daughters or granddaughters.

It's in the same way that not all people who want to have sex with an autistic person is a pedophile but that doesn't mean there aren't people who fetishize autistic people because because we remind them of children (and by we I mean myself but I hope you all can understand where I am coming from)

have you ever had to wear shoes that were too big for you?

i’m just wondering if anyone else has had any experience buying shoes that were 2-3 sizes bigger than their usual and how it went or if you managed to make it work somehow? since i know how difficult it is to find the actual shoe size for us lol

i found these heels i really like online, but the smallest size is an EU 35 (US 5). i usually wear an EU 32 (us 1???? no idea), but alot of reviews were saying that the heels were a bit tight for them so they bought a size bigger than theirs and it was perfect, so, maybe it’d work out for me if i put in shoe inserts..? the heels have velcro straps + built in adhesion tape if that helps

What backpack brand do you use that doesn’t overpower your whole body and make you look like a giant turtle from the side?

I have yet to find one but I see petite people with them every now and then just forget to remember the brand. I hate turning to the side looking like I have this giant hump. I also HATE the brands with thick straps and the ones where the backpacks have a boxy shape

Two things can be true at once: clothes that actually fit us are hard to find AND mass culture still enforces thinness as an ideal

…and there’s a THIRD thing: online “body positivity” and/or “fat activism” convos often belittle people like us who struggle at the opposite end of the bell-curve and do not include us in their “positivity.”

Beauty standards around weight always work against the people whose bodies are policed. Back in the 2000s, tabloid celebrities were always +/- 10lbs from being “bulky” or “needs a cheeseburger.” (Consider Renee Zellweger, “Bridget Jones or Bridget Bones?” if she was a UK size 6 or a UK size 2.) Jokes about girls having one “fat” attribute like “cankles” or a big bum, and therefore being undesirable, show up even in ‘family-friendly’ media. Meanwhile being “too skinny” has its own gruesome logic of taunts that often evoke prepubescent desexualization, or ED, in the rudest ways possible. I’m not gonna try to exhaust the ways in which it is generally awful to have a body in public as a woman. You can be too thin and too fat at the same time in the mass-culture eye.

Okay, so what about r/xxs? I’m posting this because I’m increasingly seeing this subreddit become less about recommending clothing brands that fit, sharing strategies for shopping, or venting frustration about misleading size charts, and more about taking an “anti-fat activist” position. It’s like people want to invent a culture war between “plus size individuals” and small-size individuals.

In general, both demographics are in a shitty position relative to clothing manufacturers, not actually in a shitty position relative to each other. It is not a zero sum game! You do not get better-fitting XXS clothing by snarking at people of other sizes!

Some (niche) fat-activist circles online mistake small bodies for their enemy. That’s wrong. The enemy is in fact cultural logics that equate women’s size and shape with their worth or desirability. CLEARLY sizing is not working for most of us. This is not the level to which we should sink.

tl;dr: Can we please not do the culture war thing? It’s really embarrassing

Vanity sizing is ruining my life

Im 5'1 3/4 , 105 lbs my measurements are 32 -24-34 and the smallest size falls off me

For context I live in turkey and by no means should I be the smallest size. Most things here run up to xs not xxs unless you are buying from bershka or smth which with this country s minimum wage is hard to do and every time i order an xs its too big

Makes me wonder wth are the true xs people wearing😭

Also for a country who s avg height is under 160 cm ( 5'3) why is everything so freaking long

Anyways I just wanted to vent

the sexualization and infantilization of petite women. it’s irritating

not sure if anyone else has mentioned it on this subreddit in particular but this is getting to the point it’s like becoming the norm.

If you’re under 5’4, underweight, smaller bone structure ect, (even worst if you’re “babyfaced”) it’s basically “over” because it’s “wrong” for anyone to find you attractive.

(don’t even get me started on how BAD it is on Twitter and the “child/l*li” comparisons)

oh and GUESS who’s demonized for it?? US.
not the people who view us and make sick comparisons.

how many times have we heard:

“Why are you wearing children’s clothes? Trying to get pdf attention”

“he’s a pdf that’s why he’s with you”

“If you find this attractive you’re a weirdo”

“he found the legal way”

HOLY STFU. we aren’t even allowed to be LOVED anymore. Jesus Christ.

As someone who’s had trauma and unintentionally regresses like plenty other women, it makes me feel like the bad guy or if people view me as if it’s done on purpose. I feel bad if my bf starts to see himself as a “weirdo” for being seen with me publicly. like ffs man.

I am so tired of curvy women calling me “stick and bones”.

This happens so often i have stopped leaving my house and only go out for important occasions. Ever since i was 8, i have been hearing disgusting things about my body by mature women/aunties of my locality, “a hanger” “you’re all legs”. I once caught my friend talking to my crush and saying “real men eat meat only dogs eat bones”. Till to this day i don’t feel good about my body and i am 25 now. I rarely ever got skinny shamed by men in my family but women have been ruthless to me. Please tell me some tips to overcome this hatred i have for my body. I don’t want to hate it and i don’t but it sometimes is so hard i don’t know what to do.

People like this are the reason why vanity sizing exists

Size labels on clothing shouldn't affect your self esteem to that extent. If you're a small, you're a small, If you're a large, you're a large and that's it. Size labels are there to see which size you fit into, nothing more nothing less. I know she's just a child, but the mom should teach her that. Because once she grows up and starts shopping in the adult section, she should be prepared for it.

I know this probably sounds unrelated to vanity sizing at first, but I think it's actually the same underlying issue. When we teach girls that being a “small” is desirable and being a “large” is something upsetting, we're giving those labels an emotional value they weren't supposed to have. Then, as people get older, they understandably start wanting the smaller number/letter because it makes them feel better about themselves. That's exactly the kind of mentality that creates demand for vanity sizing.

We should be teaching kids that the label doesn't matter in the first place.

Teach her that large isn't an insult. Teach her that small isn't an achievement. It's just a shirt.

Why is this ignored?

I have noticed that when people talk about how an XXS today fits them perfectly, so girls who can’t fit into one must be dramatic. But I feel like this keeps coming up, as well as the constant discussion of where to buy jeans, nobody ever takes into account that maybe things fit us differently because they no longer care to make clothes that fit anybody. They know once you find that one store that works a little, you’ll keep spending money there. Which snowballs into these arguments of who is being excluded where.

I think i’m just a little bit tired of the conversation of nothing being able to find clothes coming from both sides. Not because one side is wrong and the other is right, but because these companies keep escaping blame. These brands make ill fitting clothing no matter what size you are because it’s all cheaply made, fast fashion cr*p.

I was in the dressing room at Marshall’s and overheard a girl say that she bought the same size xs from hollister, but they all fit differently. And it’s because these companies do not care. It’s sloppy work that they slap expensive price tags on and get people to fight about. My 00 hollister jeans have a hole in the back (after 6 months of wearing them) when they don’t even fit properly in the back. They weren’t even tight, I had to keep pulling them up.

What i’m trying to say is that everyone’s anger and body shaming is incredibly unnecessary. Why people feel comfortable telling people things that would be considered fatphobic if reversed is because people would rather get nasty and insecure instead of admitting that we have all been got by this weird capitalistic fashion system.
