After 1 month of job hunting, I got my first ever job: QA Analyst (Production)

Hi! As the title says, I got my first ever job as a QA Analyst (Engineering). I recently passed the board exam and got bored agad kaya inayos ko CV ko at nag-apply sa mga iba’t ibang jobs. Just last 2 weeks ago, na-invite ako for an interview from two companies offering QA Analyst. Tinimbang ko muna ‘yung dalawang companies based sa layo from our bahay and dun ako nag-decide kung ano ‘yung bibigyan ko ng priority if ever ma-call ako for final interview. Fortunately, ‘yung mas gusto kong company ‘yung nag-reach out ulit for final interview. After ilang days, nag-email ng job offer kaya masaya ako.

For the people who started with the same role, I have a question. How’s the future of this path? Are the opportunities for QA worth it?

Hi! for context I am a fresh grad and recently licensed engineer applied for a QA role. I applied at 2 am in the morning and got the invitation for interview call, same day at 3 pm, tapos nag-proceed with the initial interview after an hour. After, nag-set ng final interview with the supervisors the next day. (I did not expect it to be THAT soon-!!)

During the final interview, parang nagkkwentuhan lang with them. Sobrang chill lang. Pinagkwento lang ako about my internship and asked me multiple things about that experience. Nag-ask din sila ng mga situational, about sa work ethics, etc.

After that, inexplain pa ‘yung culture sa company na ‘yon, like ‘yung percentage ng pag-wwork mo, company initiatives sa mga pa-sports, and mga events. Which I truly appreciate— parang pinapagaan yung mood and binebenta nila ‘yung company sa akin hahaha.

Then, tinanong na ang mahiwagang tanong— “how much is your expected salary?”. Nagbiro pa nga ‘yung isang supervisor na “what if ganito?”

Ngayon, I am waiting for their email and kinakabahan ako kasi what if mali ‘yung iniisip ko na it went good? hahahaha.

For the Chemical Engineers of this sub: Asking for advice

Hello! I am a fresh grad but licensed chemical engineer. I am currently looking for a job but sobrang hirap pala and I feel like I am not qualified enough.

I need some advice regarding upskilling. Ano dapat unahin kong i-work on? I want to take some certifications eh pero hindi ko alam ano uunahin ko.

Also, pahingi po advice sa job hunting or kaya naman ‘yung mga experiences niyo nung first job ninyo hehehe ☺️
