I think it would be amazing if Funko finally made official The Mentalist Pops.
Monk recently got an official Funko Pop, so I feel like The Mentalist would fit perfectly in that same crime/drama TV lineup.
A full CBI team set would be so cool:
- Patrick Jane with his teacup and playing card
- Teresa Lisbon with her badge
- Kimball Cho with a case file
- Wayne Rigsby with a CBI badge
- Grace Van Pelt with a laptop or case file
- Maybe even a Red John smiley chase/variant or display base
The Mentalist still has a loyal fanbase, and there is barely any official merch for the show. A Patrick Jane Pop alone would already be amazing, but a full team set would be even better.

I’m trying to identify a very unusual The Mentalist collectible: a silver projector pen that projects the Red John smiley when you press the button.
The pen has:
- “THE MENTALIST” printed on it
- the Red John smiley projection
- the marking “TM©WBEI” under the logo, which appears to refer to Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
- a professional-looking printed logo, not an obvious sticker or DIY modification
The Spanish seller told me he won it in a La Sexta giveaway/lottery around late 2012, when The Mentalist was airing in Spain. He said he received a winner email asking for his address, but the old email account no longer exists. He also said it came only as the pen, wrapped in bubble wrap/cardboard.
I started checking the Wayback Machine and found some interesting context:
- The Mentalist had its own page on the official La Sexta series website.
- La Sexta promoted The Mentalist on their site around 2010–2012.
- Their “Participa” section did contain real giveaways for TV series, including prizes like official shirts and DVD packs.
So La Sexta definitely had the infrastructure for series-related giveaways, but I still haven’t found the exact page for this pen.
I cannot find another example of this pen anywhere online:
- no eBay listings
- no Etsy listings
- no Google Images matches
- no collector/forum references so far
Has anyone ever seen this specific The Mentalist / Red John projector pen before, or does anyone remember La Sexta giveaways around 2012?
Any help would be appreciated. I’ll attach photos of the pen, the projection, and the TM©WBEI marking if possible.

- looks professionally manufactured, not homemade
The seller claims he won it during a giveaway/promotion connected to The Mentalist on the Spanish TV channel La Sexta sometime between 2009–2015.
What makes this weird:
- I cannot find another example ANYWHERE online
- no Etsy listings
- no eBay sold listings
- no Google Images matches
- no Reddit/forum posts
Does anyone here remember:
