For me, it’s this clip.
It’s such a quiet moment between Jane and Cho, but that’s exactly why it hits so hard. No big dramatic speech, just a scene that says a lot without needing too many words.
What’s one of the saddest or most emotional moments in The Mentalist for you?
S6E11, 14:39, Lisbon and Schaffer are looking at each other, talking about what is Jane's type (in a woman). The scene is so nicely set, THEY are his type, and they don't know it (maybe?), their hair is kinda alike too. It's quite poignant, how the scene is set, funny, nicely done!
Yes, i do also care about the actual plot but these two just steal my heart everytime! The little scenes we get with them UGH this was awesome oh my gosh
Thoughts while watching ep.1:
- “I shouldn’t have even told you” this is me definitely reaching but PROTECTIVE JANE I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
- AH NOoooooooo Lisbon no why’d you tell her
- Lmaooo Rigsby definitely knows, and he would DEFINITELY cave and tell Cho
- OH MY GOD JISBON FIGHT I DIDNT KNOW I NEEDED THIS BUT I DID!
- Okay i kinda think she was in the wrong for that, BUT MY GOSH about time that its her actually mad at him and him chasing after her
- JANE APOLOGY WHOA
- He’s so worried about her EEEEEEKEBSISGAJBDURB
- Dude NO why would you go insideeeee
- Fuck im scared i am so scared
- OH MY GOD
AND THEN IN EPISODE 2, THE HAIR CARESS!!! While Lisbon’s in the hospital and she wakes up and he’s all like ‘it’s okay you’re safe’ while caressing her hair oh my god what even is breathing anymore my heart was jumping for joy
I finished the last episode (wild orchid) last night and I have to sleep through it because I have no words and so many words to say at the same time. I can't get over the fact that it was the last episode. I watched the whole series for almost 2 weeks and I was so invested in the entire CBI casts but mostly to Patrick Jane. He is so charismatic, funny, witty, and gorgeous. His golden locks and his sparkling eyes that show his emotions just tug at my heart. But what I really love about him is that he feels and loves deeply. In his subtle way, he showed love and devotion to Rigsby and Van Pelt, Cho, and especially to Teresa. The airplane scene made me ugly cry in the wee hours of the morning. The scene by the lake when he gave the ring to Lisbon tugged at my heartstrings. There is a lot of feelings in this series. I have a long list of series in mind but I still have my hang ups. I already watched the pilot episode. Might as well do it all over again
I really appreciate his directing choices, it really feels like he’s meant to be a film director. Some might say “it’s just a wide angle shot” but they’re really cinematic, giving us an amazing visual storytelling, which is quite impressive for a procedural drama of that era (I may be biased tho).
Hi everyone,
I think it would be amazing if Funko finally made official The Mentalist Pops.
Monk recently got an official Funko Pop, so I feel like The Mentalist would fit perfectly in that same crime/drama TV lineup.
A full CBI team set would be so cool:
- Patrick Jane with his teacup and playing card
- Teresa Lisbon with her badge
- Kimball Cho with a case file
- Wayne Rigsby with a CBI badge
- Grace Van Pelt with a laptop or case file
- Maybe even a Red John smiley chase/variant or display base
The Mentalist still has a loyal fanbase, and there is barely any official merch for the show. A Patrick Jane Pop alone would already be amazing, but a full team set would be even better.
If you also want this, you can submit the idea through Funko’s official “Figure and Product Submission” form.
Suggested submission:
Product Type: Pop!
Character Name: Patrick Jane / The CBI Team
Fandom: The Mentalist
Not trying to spam Funko, just hoping fans who genuinely want this can show there’s still demand for The Mentalist collectibles.
Am I the only one who stopped watching in Season 6 when Agent Fischer came?
I feel like I no longer wanted to watch after Red John died. But I still want to finish the series.
Can anyone tell me if it's still worth watching until the end?
Thanks!
My first time watching the mentalist and I am so obsessed!
I didn't like Sam Bosco when he first came in, but his banters with Jane really grew on me. I hate that he and his team had to end up this way. 😭😭
I am watching the show for the first time and it is a delight. However, the ending to the Red John saga seemed a bit abrupt. I liked how intense the build-up was but the way they ended it, I am not a fan.
Jane getting his revenge is dope, the gang making it happen is dope, but Red John himself was underwhelming. I guess I had this idea of Red John being someone powerful but lo and behold, he's just a small town sheriff. It would have been much better if someone like Gale or Kirkland was Red John. And even if they did want to keep McAllister as Red John, they could have at least made him more Red John-like. The previous person patrick killed, before the twist, I was convinced that it was Red John, the behaviour, the way of talking, everything was screaming red John, while for thomas McAllister, he just seemed like a dude.
Also, the entire sequence in which Jane chokes Red John and asks him the questions, Red John would have answered No, he wasn't sorry, no, he wasn't afraid of dying. The yeses were a terrible attempt at humanizing him, in my opinion.
Any thoughts?
I’m currently on my first watch so please no spoilers!
Right now I’m on episode 4, but a thought had come across my head - I totally understand why Jane is protecting everyone in the unit now after we’ve seen what has happened to Frye. From the first episode of this season all I see in his eyes is pain and suffering and I know where he is coming from. I find it weird that Lisbon doesn’t show that she knows that Jane needs some space to try figure it all out on his own.
Also, Bradford is dating Van Pelt: that is WILD! 😝
hi guys! I've finished watching The Mentalist (but I've only watched the episodes where Red John is mentioned) . Could you share any interesting episodes or your favorites (it would be great if there was something epic and terrible).
I'm watching the show for the second time, after I watched it when it originally aired.
I'm on Season 2 and I realize that Jane has been saying since the beginning "Red John is mine."
And the show gave it to him. And I love that.
That is all. 😁
I am on my 2nd to the last episode. That's so sweet of him to buy that cottage for them and make it their home. But remove that f**cking ring JANE
Is Amanda Righetti pregnant this season? All the shots of her character are of her sitting at her desk. Plus she looks to have gained some weight.
Looking back at the 6 seasons ish build up the reveal of red johns identity as >!sheriff McAllister!< wasn’t bad but did not reach the level of the build up it was kinda underwhelming and disappointing that they didn’t give us a few more episodes with the audience knowing who red john is to see how he operates and how can a >!sheriff!< control major law enforcement officer and or directors and to understand how the association really works, how it started… etc
I think they rushed it tbh and i feel a void in my soul that im pretty will be filled with youtube video essays.
