The parallels in Throwing Fire

The parallels in Throwing Fire

Well one thing I noticed in this episode is the clear parallel between Jane's dad and him during his childhood vs The two baseball kids and their dads.

To put it briefly, both were being used as nothing but money making machines in some way or the other. Parental exploitation for their own greed and the children were almost a means to an end, using endless deception and lies, corrupting their childhood.

What do y'all think? This was another one of my favs in season 2, especially because we get to see more of Jane's past when he was just a kid, and he's still just as sharp.

Seeing Cho this vulnerable.. man...

Cho always seemed like a self-blaming person, very accountable, cold, and action over mindless pondering. Never the emotional type. Seeing him cry just ticked something inside me.. I don't know what...

The best thing about The Mentalist is how each and every member of the main cast gets dedicated time for their development, not just Jane. This episode was great, Cho aura farmed like crazy I swear 😭😭.

"When you catch him, don't arrest him, kill the son of a bitch."

"That's the plan."

Why did they have to kill Bosco off so early? I was just starting to love his character 😭. I wish we had more of him with the CBI gang, just imagine the amount of character development potential. Gonna miss him.

Found this old gem on r/askmen 😶

Do y'all think Hercules will ever make a reappearance into the MCU?

He has been quite irrelevant/useless to what seems to be the future fate of the MCU. So is he just going to end up as a wasted introduction to a character? Or how else do you think he could be reintroduced?

Lemme know!

What if the old Steve we saw from Endgame was actually just Loki

Now, I have zero proof on how this works, but by how things are set up b/w Steve and Loki, I strongly feel like this could be a possibility, and it doesn't even "not make sense".

What do y'all think about this?

Rigsby trying NOT to get interrupted when hitting on Van Pelt(impossible)

Just watched S2E5, oh boy it was a treat. But what really caught me was when Jane interrupted Rigsby from kissing Van Pelt 😭😭.

This trope had been going on since S1E16, when the Janitor first interrupted them. Oh boy it adds on to that slow burn. BUUUT, they did kiss at the end of S2E5. Soooo, cheers to Rigsby 😅.

Also side note, does anyone else feel like the plot of the cases and Jane's schemes get much much more predictable than before? One whole season with Jane and his shenanigans got me adapted lol.

What do you seek in your partner?

As in, what qualities do you search in a partner. Now, my personal thought process is that people would usually go for someone with almost opposite qualities as they have, contrasting them.

They try to seek something they don't have in them. So, let's put that idea to the rest!

Still baffles me that the universe was restored, because Tony couldn't let go of a kid from Queens.

No cause, imagine if there wasn't really a dynamic between Pete and Tony, would there really be any drive for Tony to invent time travel and save the day?

Jane loves to psychologically break/trap suspects before they confess.

The pattern finally clicked into me in S1E22, where he scared the hell out of Elliot with that fake Zachariah story, even though he obviously knew, that it was Elliot earlier on.

This either manifests in him breaking them, making them feel dread and fear in some way, so that the impending pressure squirms the truth out of them. A man’s mind changes completely when he realizes he's out of time.

Or, by letting them follow their to-do list, while being 2 steps ahead and catching them do it red-handed, even though he already knew mostly it was them.

Remember how in S1E2 he said "Being sorry is a far worse punishment than being dead". That little ideology of his could make sense why he busts out the truth from the suspects the way he does. Also probably because he hates boredom and wants drama lol.

Jane when the rest of the CBI has guns but he doesn't:

He's so open with his cowardice, that kinda shows his survival instincts 😜.

How much would the events of Civil War change if Thor and Hulk were present on Earth? What about Ragnarok?

What do you expect and want in your partners? Lmk!

Well I have this weird opinion, that, people usually seek traits of their integration type in their partners, or at least, someone polarizing/contrasting them, and I wanted to test this out, sooo, here we go!

Jane's interactions with kids is something I'm very fond of.

In almost every episode of season 1, whenever there are kids involved, most of the time he tries to act gently, and handles their grief or sadness with care, sometimes even teaching them the right path, and is very playful with them! It's almost like he himself is a child...

Or, it's because.... he always wanted one... 💔. I feel like he sees his own dead daughter in the victim's kids/kids in general around him, and it's so depressive and wholesome at the same time.

Genuinely love this trope, and would like to see it more going forward!

These 4 are running for president, who are you voting for and why?

Bonus: picture their interactions

I'm personally going for Optimus.
