We will be travelling from EU to Canada this summer with our 4 month old to spend a few months, and I’m not happy with our current car seats we have here. I’m wondering if it’s best to buy a new car seat here and bring it with us, (but it would have to be checked in, so no telling how they will handle it in cargo) or to buy a car seat in Canada and use it for the summer, potentially bring it back? Or just sell it on. If anyone has any recommendation’s for bucket seats in Canada should that turn out to be the best option, please let me know! We are bringing a stroller so no travel system needed, and the seat will be used in multiple cars and on highways in cities if that makes any difference. Thanks!

Edit- it turns out that we cannot use a car seat from either country in the other, so instead of anyone has any car seat recommendations for Canada that aren’t crazy expensive as will only be used for a few months.

Okay so my baby is 10 weeks old and for the last 2/2.5 weeks, he has been fussing from around 5am every morning with gas and congestion. I try to elevate the gas like I do in the day with stretches but he screams. The congestion sounds so bad I can’t leave it alone so I have to take him out of the bedroom and torture him by doing saline drops and light suction which gets just enough out so that he can breathe freely. I hate this. He screams so loud and who wouldn’t?!? It feels like I’m assaulting him in his sleep! Anyway I clear his nose a little and then I just have to hold him on my chest facing out and let him wriggle and fuss in his sleep for the next 2/3 hours while I get no sleep. The weird thing is that when he wakes up, he’s smiling ear to ear, pain has completely subsided, nasal passages are clear and he’s ready to start the day and be entertained 🫠 This is killing me, I have tried doing a saline flush (as recommended by paediatrician) in the evening, I do some saline drops at bed time but don’t suction, we can’t have a humidifier in our room as the natural humidity is like 75%😭(island life) and as for the gas, I try to just make sure he’s been burped and had some movement before laying him down but I don’t know what else to do. When he wakes up the ‘pain’ seems to be gone, I put him in his bouncer and he does his business easily and is super happy. If anyone has advice pleaseee let me know.
