Is my dog a good weight

My grandmother keeps commenting that she is too skinny. I have seen lots of dogs as I work with dogs and I think she looks okay but it’s starting to get to my head. She’s 13 and active (goes on walks everyday and longer hikes at least once a week). Her spine and ribs are somewhat visible but her hip bones are not.

I believe what I have is a button fern. I’ve had it for a little over a month and it’s just not thriving. It’s in a pot with a drainage hole with regular potting soil. It’s in an east facing window and is behind a window with film on it so it gets indirect sunlight. At first I was letting the very top layer of soil dry out before watering but recently have been watering it more frequently. Unfortunately no matter what I do, it doesn’t seem happy. Some leaves are fine but others are a bit crunchy. If anyone has any suggestions/tips, that would be greatly appreciated!

I rooted this monstera in water months ago kind of as an experiment. I’ve just let it go and trying to figure out what to do with it. I just cleaned all the algae off the roots and the inside of the jar.

Other than transferring it to soil, anyone have any other ideas? I have another plant in LECA, but would need to go out and buy more for this. I also have perlite. I’m okay with keeping it in water but wondering if it will ever produce split leaves. I do sometimes put a small splash of the diluted fertilizer that I use for my plant in LECA.

Also, would be okay with transferring to just soil (would these water roots transfer okay to that?) but I kind of want to keep the experiment going with this monstera cutting.

My ink got thick and gelatinous. Wondering if there is anyway to save this so I can still use it. The lid was on tight.
