Hi. Astartes have power armor, genetically engineered superhuman speed, jetpacks and armored transports to deliver them into melee range, not mentioning terminators teleportation. Sisters of battle have repentia, penitent engines and power armors as well, and they don't care about casualties of two first things. Mechanicus have cybernetic troops who can move incredibly fast, have various forms of shielding. All points here have some means to close on in, and their melee specialist work in coordination with ranged troops. does Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum has any units, equipped and trained to work as offensive troops working in coordination with ranged troopers or leading their charge ? for example some formations of ogryn auxilia, or some regiment similar to Catachan, that their planet's gravity and environment turned them into deadly predators ?

It is said there is a position of standard bearer in Astra Militarum, being member of company command squad, which is said to motivate the troops. is there any lore accurate source or book which explains how aren't they betraying their position to enemy artillery, snipers or any other formation, like aeldari scorpions or Tau infiltration teams or ork Kommandos. or are they way behind front lines, or they only carry it on military parades.

We all know that Tau have plasma rifles issued to every fire warrior. But does Imperium have any cheap patterns of plasma gun issued to infantry squads in bigger number for example three per squad or a bit more ? in Dawn of war imperial guard units could have several of these and game was approved by games workshop.

Hi, i am completely green and i have no idea where to start. i mean i've found some kind of summary and there mention of some guide, but could you recommend some good, free start guides if there are any ? recommendations appreciated

According to Ibram Gaunt, commissar should first inspire men under their leadership and resort to summary execution only when need arises. Was there any other commissar in the lore or books who developed this thought, explaining how do they know when to inspire someone and when to shoot him, how to bond with their subordinate regiments, and how they know when there are other solutions than killing an officer for failure or opposing orders, or trooper who saw something than nearly frightened him to death ?

Does Astra militarum possess forces classified as regiments of exceptionsl value, coming from planets that turn them into merciless killers, or even formations assembled from various planets like early Solar auxilia than can hope for receiving best weapons Mechanicus produces, tons of machines and sent against most serious threats like aeldari or Tau ?

Hi, Warhammer 40k wiki gives quite a lot of hints that some imperial guard regiments (Maccabian Jannisaries, Mordian Iron Guard and Praetorian Guard) use tactics of gathering in tight ranks and unleashing volley after volley of lasgun fire at the enemy, and it's concentrated power is so big it creates an impregnable wall of fire both shielding them and shredding enemy apart. is there any lore-approved book which shows and justifies it somehow, or is the wiki basing on outdated lore ?

There are imperial research stations mentioned in Warhammer 40k. do some of them do actual research, or at least there is some grey eminence behind it that can get some results from it, and are there some technical results of their santioned research given to imperial military forces like Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum ?

Are there any forge worlds which look with disgust on those from adeptus mechanicus who think they should rebel against imperium to being back independent mechanicum or are at least opposite to the idea of disloyalty to imperium as whole ?
