I was so keen on this idea as soon as the Cogfort came out. I wanted a centerpiece for a Questor Forgepact force that really fit in with the Admech elements.

I like the look of the sterylizors more with the talons and the torches but gameplay wise the Skystalkers just seem more fun and better for their role what do y'all think?

Hi, I don't play Ad Mech but I was wondering why so many models have axes as their main melee weapon, for example, Cawl, the Techmarine and some of the Tech Priests I've seen. I was wondering if there is a specific lore reason why axes are favoured in the Ad Mech

Why? I don't like named Characters in my army, they have nothing to do with Cawl they are there own independent thing.

I painted them yellow like a hazmat suit and used green and blue glow to make them look stereotypically radioactive.

I got a squad of hoplites rather cheap as they are missing the shields and backpacks. Now I've painted them up I'm keen to find something to finish them off - but without spending £30 for the official parts!
Any suggestions on either other warhammer squads I could source cheaper shields from that would fit the ad-mech vibe, or any third party retailers that do something decent? I've had a bit of a look but not found anything yet... thanks!
I've been away from the hobby for a long time, and while I've got my feet back under the table with Ad mech, I'm not all too familiar with the other factions and what they have.
I'm really curious, what does Ad Mech have that other factions would love to have given the chance? Do we have anything that no army has, or can we do something better then every other faction or there?
Working on some units for my mechanicus army that will have some mechanicum style with them. These will help match my two units of skitarii rangers made from the 30k ones.
If GW won't let us play the mechanicum units in 40k, then I'll just convert them into 40k units. So I used some leftover bit from my breachers and a extra robot kit and the units from the mechanicum combat patrol box. I had to leave the right shoulder armor off the thallax to fit the kataphron destroyer weapons
Does anyone else run eschew the arc rifle, plasma caliver, and arquebus for more base rifles? I've found it annoying to call out a bunch of different targets, do multiple rolls, and lose the anti infantry shooting when I have plenty of anti tank pieces. I feel like I only take them because they were more points in previous editions.
So I have a question for how the cybernetica datasmiths battle protocols interact with kastelans after the model death. The ability ruling states.
If this model is leading a Kastelan Robots unit, you can select one protocol from those listed below for that unit to enter. Once a unit enters a protocol, it remains in that protocol until it enters a different one
Does this mean if the datasmith model dies they stay in the last protocol they entered or because its a ability of the data smith they lose the protocol after the model dies? Any rules or anything that help clarify this would be greatly appreciated.
