This month’s submissions were similar to the unit they highlighted: fewer in numbers, but higher in quality!

In September, the subreddit decided to crown a classical take on our new elite unit, straight up from a John Blanche illustration: congratulations to u/ToughEntertainer2317 for winning the September Mini of the Month contest with their Filthy Gryphonne IV Hastarii! The rust on these minis is so convincing that you might think that they are not made of plastic anymore…

• WIP Hastarii for my Auxilia Myrmidon crusade force by u/HybridRanger64: this incredible kitbash is AdMech in all the best ways - the myrmidon look is hard to get right, and this submission nailed it (using non-metallic metal painting techniques too).
• Exkallos-Pattern Fusiliers by u/Artic_Lightning: just as Admech-y as the previous one, this kitbash gives great ideas on how to get a second unit of Hastariis out of the spare bits one might have after making their first unit! 
• Hastarii Fusiliers of Forge World Yaddosh by u/heburns2351: another great example of how simply adding the right bits to a kit can completely shift the vibe of the models… It is yet another great show for Forge World Yaddosh!
• Hastarii Exterminators by u/Level_Restaurant_872: a classical yet refined take on Metallican Hastariis with freehand motifs.

October Competition
While our cybercanids mostly sat in their mechanical stables due to rules that left them in the rarest part of the tenth edition meta, it’s time to bring them back in the limelight they always deserved: the coolest looking cavalry models in all of 40k, the Serberys Raiders & Sulfurhounds will be our October Mini of the Month!

Submit your unit of Serberys (this can include a kitbashed unit or even full proxies, as long as it is readable as Serberys).

Here is to another record breaking month, Magi! This month’s submissions were beyond great, and it was exceptionally hard to narrow them down for the selection of the honorable mentions… And while we are limited in the amount of posts we can shout-out in these publications please note that we really appreciate them all!

But as per the famous psalms of Magos MacLeodus, “In the end, there can be only one”: this month’s winner is none other than u/HardcoreHeathen and their Inspection Squad from Forge World Osha! May these well equipped Work Safety Efficiency Auditors bless many Forgeworlds with their thorough analysis of workplace practices… Only the Omnissiah knows how many of us still fail to use their servitors at their peak yield, and they are here to correct this.

Thank you all for your hard work, Magi! The submissions this month were once again outstanding, with the return of multiple tech-priests whose creations have already blessed the contest in the last few months…

But even in the face of this experienced opposition, this month’s winner is a brand new participant: Magos Explorator 0-ror-4 of forge world Ausetra-VI by u/Melrakkiii! Bridging the gap between dimensions, this kitbash is the perfect demonstration of how creativity can even bring Age of Sigmar kits to become unmistakenly true servants of the Machine God.

• r/AdeptusMechanicus - Just finished my Tech Priest Dominus! by u/KingDennisIV: another straight paintjob whose clean look and clear identity commands the highest level of respect.
• Tech Priest Dominus, Genetor Mechae-Moribundus Alfiradex-8 by u/heburns2351: last but certainly not least, another Magos of high skill whose kitbashes already earned the praises of several Mini of the Month contests! This Dominus has been kitbashed straight out of the imagination of John Blanche himself…

Now that 11th Edition is upon us, one of the most iconic units in all of the Adeptus Mechanicus has received fantastic upgrades - there is simply no better time than to finally have our glorious Kastelan Robots as our Mini of the Month!

The Holy Synod of Mars returns for its monthly praises to the Omnissiah!

The Siege of Agripinaa rekindled the resolve of your Forges, bringing their output to heights never seen before: this was the most entries to the contest we’ve had so far! Thank you all for your submissions. As they kept coming, we extended the deadline to May 31st - the end of the month being a clearer target, we’re going to keep the last day of the month as the deadline of further MoM contests going forward. However, the additional computations needed to select each month’s honourable mention will delay the results. 

Epic heroes always bring additional difficulties - as their sculpts are already so expressive, it often becomes harder to let one’s own expression take the spotlight from the sculpt itself… And that is exactly what u/BillyHamspillager managed to do with amazing take on the subreddit's favourite grandma! However, let’s hope that the… very cubic combat simulation running on her screen doesn’t sway her focus too much away from the battlefield.

• Archmagos Terminus finally finished (never using a hairdryer to speed up texture paints again) by u/SpaceMan026: a striking colour scheme and art style perfectly complimenting the… Wait, are you certain that these equipment are coming from Mars-approved STCs?
• Our beautiful woman by u/ItsARealSmile: she absolutely is, and in no short part thanks to this superb paintjob. The OSL and the lightning crackles make her pierce the screen!
• Thulia Ghuld, alongside some Ash Wastes Hastarii! by u/JustKachmanastan: forget about what I mentioned regarding Epic Heroes sculpts often reducing the potential for expression, this spider (and also Tusken?) themed kitbash is absolutely chilling. We definitely hope to see new submissions in future months grow the ranks for the Ash Wastes!
•  My take on a Archmagos Reductor Biologis. Nothing heretical going on here by u/rhedone_: another kitbash oozing with personality. With such a custodian, Forge World Viscera looks well-guarded - with kitbashs like these, it is very hard to imagine how GW could even attempt doing better with their own hypothetical future Darkmech range…
• Thulia Ghuld - avatar of destruction by u/xMort: do not listen to what the author of the publication says, this result is genuinely worthy of being called an army centerpiece. Base work is one of the complexities of epic heroes, and these crystals are really making the mini look like an actual scene! 
• Thulia Ghuld! by u/eggsinatrashcan: last but certainly not least, one of our retroactive entries and the chronologically first submission to the contest. A masterful demonstration that classic paint schemes can still strike fear in the art of heretics…

June Competition

Self-expression is one of the key aspects of the Adeptus Mechanicus, and as such it is one of the most inclusive factions in all of the 40k setting: no matter who you are or how you identify yourself, your skills will always be welcomed among the ranks of our Magi. 

So, to celebrate Pride Month, we have selected the most identifiable mini of our range as the focus of your creativity: the Tech-Priest Dominus and its almost infinite potential for expression will be June’s Mini of the Month!

Submit your model of Tech-Priest Dominus (this can include a kitbashed unit or even full proxies, as long as it is readable as a Dominus).

Good evening soulless husks,

I have just finished painting my Shard of the Omnissiah the Void Dragon and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! I've always been interested in Necrons (go figure) and this model in particular is probably my favourite in all of 40k, so I really wanted to give it all the effort it deserved.

In addition, this was a very bittersweet model for me to paint: I started playing 40k thanks to a shop called Create and Play in Augsburg which sadly had to close definitely about two months ago... The Hypercrypt battleforce was their final 40k box still on the shelf on the final day, so after eyeing it for quite a while I bit the bullet and finally purchased it. So in a way, this is my tribute for the last few years of fun that I owe to this awesome game shop that I'll miss a ton!

For the paintjob: I was really inspired by Elminiaturista's Nightbringer, and I highly recommend you to check his patreon! His guides really helped me a ton.

Anyway, can't wait to return the Sankhotep dynasty to its tomb, so...

First of all, thank you to all of the most courageous magi who attempted this month’s contest! The archeopter is one of the faction’s rarest models to see on the tabletop, so we knew from the start that getting even a single entry would not be guaranteed… But that goal has somehow been doubled! 

And not only this, the winning entry is one of the most impressive submissions we have received since the start of this regular community event six months ago. It’s very hard to even describe the scales of the Archaeopter of the Red Exiles by u/Straylight87 without just asking people to simply look at it for themselves. Incredible freehand work, and without a doubt an entry that most of us will keep remembering every time we’ll see an archeopter in the future.

Just finished my Stygies VIII Archaeopter by u/bloody_trumpet: you can never go wrong with the classic black and red theme of the coolest and definitely not tech-heretical forgeworld mentioned in our codices - including the magnetisation for good measure, this submission will certainly be used by many people as a painting guide in the future!
