A token of appreciation before we Technopriests start reclaming archeotech from your tombs again tomorrow

Good evening soulless husks,

I have just finished painting my Shard of the Omnissiah the Void Dragon and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! I've always been interested in Necrons (go figure) and this model in particular is probably my favourite in all of 40k, so I really wanted to give it all the effort it deserved.

In addition, this was a very bittersweet model for me to paint: I started playing 40k thanks to a shop called Create and Play in Augsburg which sadly had to close definitely about two months ago... The Hypercrypt battleforce was their final 40k box still on the shelf on the final day, so after eyeing it for quite a while I bit the bullet and finally purchased it. So in a way, this is my tribute for the last few years of fun that I owe to this awesome game shop that I'll miss a ton!

For the paintjob: I was really inspired by Elminiaturista's Nightbringer, and I highly recommend you to check his patreon! His guides really helped me a ton.

Anyway, can't wait to return the Sankhotep dynasty to its tomb, so...

So long and thanks for the Archeotech!

Greetings to all Tech Adepts!

The Holy Synod of Mars returns for its monthly praises to the Omnissiah!

First of all, thank you to all of the most courageous magi who attempted this month’s contest! The archeopter is one of the faction’s rarest models to see on the tabletop, so we knew from the start that getting even a single entry would not be guaranteed… But that goal has somehow been doubled!

And not only this, the winning entry is one of the most impressive submissions we have received since the start of this regular community event six months ago. It’s very hard to even describe the scales of the Archaeopter of the Red Exiles by u/Straylight87 without just asking people to simply look at it for themselves. Incredible freehand work, and without a doubt an entry that most of us will keep remembering every time we’ll see an archeopter in the future.

The winning post has been added to the subreddit sidebar, and if you would like a custom user flair, please let us know.

Winning posts will remain in a 3 month cycle, so three will be present until they begin to cycle out.

Honourable Mention!

Just finished my Stygies VIII Archaeopter by u/bloody_trumpet: you can never go wrong with the classic black and red theme of the coolest and definitely not tech-heretical forgeworld mentioned in our codices - including the magnetisation for good measure, this submission will certainly be used by many people as a painting guide in the future!

May Competition

With her deployment on the frontlines last month… Who else could we pick but Archmagos Reductor (and the sub’s #1 Skitarii protector grandma) Thulia Ghuld?

While it is still early for most, we hope that the contest can provide our tech-adepts with all the inspiration they need to paint/modify their own Archmagos Reductor.

Submit your model of Thulia Ghuld (this can include a kitbashed unit or even full proxies, as long as it is readable as an her).
(Reminder - don’t share links publicly to 3D printed files that replicate official models or parts)
Submissions must be fully assembled and painted

Due to this month’s specific context, we will of course allow retroactive submissions: if you’ve already posted your own Thulia last month, just update the flair of your old post with the Mini of the Month one! If you’re unsure how to do it, feel free to contact the mod team (or just leave a comment under this post) and we’ll make sure to include your submission in the pool.

The final date for submissions for this month's contest will be May 29th, so we have time to either pick June’s Mini or run a poll on it. Please submit your post in the following format:

Post Title as Thulia Ghuld or your homebrew Archmagos Reductor’s name, forgeworld etc

<Mini of the month POST FLAIR>

<a photo of your Candidate>

Any custom lore your unit have on their service record, via Crusade games or homebrew or about your army, etc (optional)

The highest upvoted post will be displayed on the side bar of the sub, and the user can request a custom user flair (relating to the mechanicus) of their choice.

Praise the Omnissiah!
