6w5d ultrasound uncertain findings

I did a FET with a single day-5 embryo. At my 6w5d ultrasound, the sonographer unexpectedly found what may be a second structure.

The scan was set up as a singleton pregnancy. Partway through, the sonographer noticed a possible second sac and began labeling them Baby A and Baby B.

Baby A:
- CRL: 0.78cm
- Gestational Age: 6w5d
- Heartbeat: 126 bpm

Baby B:
- CRL: 0.49cm
- Gestational Age: 6w1d
- Percentile: <1%
- Heartbeat: they could not confirm independent heartbeat. They said a second heartbeat rate they detected appeared identical to Baby A, making it unclear if it was a separate heartbeat or the same one detected twice.

They were uncertain whether they were truly seeing twins and asked me to come back for another scan in two weeks.

My questions:
- Has anyone experienced a similar uncertain finding at an early transvaginal scan? How did you cope with this?
- Based on the description of Baby B, should I be concerned of a possible vanishing twin scenario?

I feel a mix of emotions—I have always planned to have a singleton and was so fearful of the possibility of being pregnant with twins (I am very petite), which is why I only transferred one embryo at a time. This two-week limbo of possibly carrying twins, with the chance that one of them may not be viable, is putting a lot of anxiety on me.

Anxious for my first 6-week ultrasound

I did my egg retrieval last Nov and did the first FET in January but did not get a positive result.

The transfer in April was successful and I am now 6w3d and am due for my first ultrasound this Friday. I have been feeling so anxious!!!! I don’t have obvious symptoms and I actually experienced a few days of spotting in week 5 (I was experiencing discomfort inserting endometrium then and I hoped that the light spotting was due to that). At-home pregnancy tests continued to show positive results but I have been having pessimistic thoughts.

Wish me luck on Friday! I only have one euploid left 😢
