In my 30s and suddenly can’t focus at work anymore. Anyone else?

Lately I’ve been having a really hard time concentrating at work.
I can’t even get through simple tasks without my mind drifting.

I used to be sharp and productive, but now even opening emails or starting basic work feels mentally exhausting. It’s not that I don’t know how to do the work. I just can’t seem to focus long enough to do it.

I’m sleeping okay, exercising, and financially stable, so I’m confused why this is happening.

Has anyone else gone through this in their 30s?
Burnout? Depression? Too much screen time? Loss of motivation?

What actually helped you recover your focus?

In your 30s, has anyone here left a 6-figure job just to enjoy life?

I’m genuinely curious if anyone has done this.

I’ve been working in a pretty stable six-figure job, but lately I’ve been thinking a lot about lifestyle instead of money.

Part of me wonders what it would feel like to step away from the constant grind and just live somewhere warm, spend more time outdoors, surf, travel, and slow down a bit.

Has anyone here actually done this? Did you regret it or feel more free?

I’m trying to understand how margin loan interest deductions work in Canada (Ontario specifically).

I used margin investing through Wealthsimple, but when I checked my tax documents, I don’t think the margin interest was automatically included anywhere for tax deductions.

Do I manually enter margin interest on my tax return?

Which line/form is normally used in Canada?

Is all margin interest deductible if the investments are income-producing?

I’m in the highest Ontario tax bracket, so this potentially matters quite a bit.

Curious how other Canadians handle tracking and claiming margin interest properly.

I’m currently a mid-level software engineer. Most of my experience has been at large corporations where I mainly worked on smaller scoped tasks/features rather than owning large systems end-to-end.

I’ve been studying:

LeetCode

system design / architecture

My goal is to become strong enough for FAANG-level roles.

What else should I focus on to close the gap?

I’m late 30's and a software engineer. I’ve saved about $5M, mostly in tech stocks. I earn $40–100/hr freelancing, but I’m exhausted.

I’ve been coding for years and can’t focus anymore. No motivation. Even simple work feels hard. I’ve also failed several FAANG interviews, which didn’t help.

I’m 35, work in tech, and recently crossed a bit over $5M net worth.

The weird part is I can’t focus on my job anymore.

I make good money ($300k), work isn’t that stressful, and I know I’m in a better position than most.

But mentally, it’s like a switch flipped. I don’t feel urgency, deadlines don’t scare me, and I keep procrastinating or just zoning out.

I sit down to work. I get distracted, zone out, or avoid tasks completely.

Even simple things feel hard to start.

Has anyone gone through something similar?

Any advice would help.

I’ve been thinking about how to turn domain expertise into something scalable, and MCP caught my attention.

A lot of this knowledge is very specific and hard to learn without hands-on experience.

Is there a way to package domain knowledge into an MCP setup and actually monetize it?

But I’m not sure what the real opportunities or limitations are here.

Would love to hear practical examples or even why this might not work.

I an’t focus anymore after hitting well above $5M net worth

Ever since then my motivation has been gone.

I’m financially secure, but I just can’t focus anymore.

Even simple tasks feel pointless, and I keep procrastinating. It’s like I don’t have a real reason to push myself like before.

Has anyone else experienced this after reaching financial goals?

How did you deal with it or find motivation again?

I keep seeing posts like “I launched a SaaS and made my first $1K MRR” or “indie hacker success in a few weeks,” but my experience has been the complete opposite.

I’ve built a couple of SaaS ideas, shipped MVPs, tried to get users, and so far $0 revenue.
