brag sheet advice

hello everyone! i am asking my teachers from junior year for letter of rec and i am giving them maybe this brag sheet if its okay. please let me know if theres anything I should add/delete!
name
Intended Major: International Relations or Political Science
Intended Minor: Linguistics or French
GPA: 3.925

Extracurricular Activities:
i explain all my ec's here exacting how im explaining them on common app (sorry i don't want to see too recognizable)
Awards
same thing as above

AP Classes:
10th Grade:

AP Spanish Language and Culture

AP Macroeconomics

AP World History

11th Grade:

AP Spanish Literature and Culture

AP French Language and Culture

AP English Language and Composition

AP United States History

AP Statistics

AP Environmental Science

Career and Personal Goals:
My goal is to pursue International Relations or Political Science and build a career in diplomacy, international affairs, or public service. I hope to work across cultures and countries while advocating for communities that are often underrepresented. Personally, I want to continue developing my language skills, learning from different cultures, and using my education to create opportunities for others.
Junior Year Grade Explanation:
ok here's why I added this let me know if I should delete it though. but my thought behind it is that these teachers saw me miss a lot of school in my junior year (i didn't actually tell them because i was going though a lot but i still managed to get good grades)
I was involved in a car accident that caused me to miss a lot of school, including classes, assignments, and exams. As a result, it was difficult to keep up with my coursework and maintain my grades while trying to catch up on missed material. Despite these challenges, I continued to put forth my best effort and remained committed to my classes
Places of Recommendation and Explanation:
I’m asking to be considered for a letter of recommendation for my college applications through the Common Application and QuestBridge.
What I want you to emphasize:
I would primarily like the recommendation to come from your own experiences and honest perspective of me rather than simply repeating my accomplishments or activities. I want the letter to reflect how you genuinely see me as a student and as a person. Please feel free to use this brag sheet as a reference if you need additional context about my experiences, interests, goals, or accomplishments. If you have any questions or would like me to explain anything further, I would be happy to provide more context! Since I won't be able to read the recommendation, I genuinely want you to be honest and write what you believe best represents me. I hope I've given you enough good material to work with, though!

please lmk if this is okay or should I add something or delete something, thank you!!!

question for finalists

has anyone actually become a finalist with a noncustodial parent making over $65k? i live with my mom and siblings (family of 4), and my mom makes under $30k. my noncustodial parent makes over $65k, but he only pays child support, which comes out of his paycheck. i have contact with him, so a waiver isn’t an option. the child support will stop when i turn 18, and i don’t expect him to contribute after that (i know this because he hasn’t contributed to my older siblings which are 18+). has anyone been a finalist in a similar situation? i’m worried that our combined parental income being a bit more than $100k will make me ineligible, even though he doesn’t actually support our household beyond child support.

letter of recommendation as a chud 😣✌️(holy yap sorry)

hello everyone!!! i’m a rising senior who’s planning on applying for questbridge, and i need my letters of recommendation pronto for when school starts in late august 😭 either way, i don’t really talk in class, but i get good grades, mostly A’s, and always turn in my work. i know i should’ve tried to build better relationships with my teachers, especially during junior year, but that’s over now 😔😔 i’ve had the same two teachers for two years because i’ve taken two different language classes. i had a pretty bad argument with one of them right before school ended (the only teacher i actually connected with and had a good relationship with 😭) but the other language teacher and i don’t really talk just because i’m really awkward and don’t know how to talk to people✌️😓 but she knows i’m involved in school and other things too. i obviously have other teachers too, but i rarely went to class during second semester of junior year because i was struggling a lot mentally and physically (i got into a car accident, but i never told anyone). because of that, my STEM classes were affected the most. i ended up with a couple of B’s becuase i would miss class and work, and didn’t do as well on assignments 😔 apart from my STEM and language teachers, i have history and english teachers whose classes i really enjoyed, but i don’t really talk to them either and don’t have the best connection with them. i also got a 2 on AP Lang and a 3 on APUSH 😭😭😭😭 so idk… what would y’all recommend i do? who should i ask for my recommendation letters? anything helps thanks .😣😊

question about financials 😔✌️

hello everyone! i have a question about financials. first, i know there isn’t a strict income cutoff for QuestBridge, just that the average household income is around $65k.

but here’s my situation:

my parents were never married, and my dad hasn’t lived with us for a few years.

i currently live with my mom, my older brother, and my younger brother (household of 4). my oldest brother moved out a few months ago (we used to be 5)

my dad pays formal child support (we receive checks), but i don’t know the exact amount. i think it’s around $1,000/month or less for two kids.

my oldest brother (who recently moved out) claimed me and my siblings as dependents and helped support us. he only makes around $20k.

my mom makes around $28k.

when my dad lived with us, he made around $80k, and it’s probably higher now since it’s been years.

if you add my parents’ incomes together, that’s at least $108k. if you also include my oldest brother’s income since he supported our household and claimed us as dependents, it’s around $128k+. however, my dad doesn’t contribute anything besides court-ordered child support. he was actually paying child support even while living with us because it hasn’t been reevaluated in years, which is why it’s relatively low.

we live in a trailer park mobile home, so we own the trailer which is considered an asset as it’s converted to a house if that makes sense and that’s worth around 100k but we don’t own the land it’s on so we still pay rent every month. and that’s all the assets owned.

we also live in washington state, which is generally considered one of the more expensive states to live in, so i’m not sure if QuestBridge takes cost of living into account.

i’m mainly wondering if, based only on my financial situation (not my academics or extracurriculars), i still have a realistic shot at being a QuestBridge finalist, or if my family’s financial situation would likely make me ineligible.

anything is helpful, thank you so much! 🫶

low gpa and no sat help please

hello! i’m wondering if i should still apply for questbridge in the following cycle. i have a 3.8 gpa, only dropped my junior year, got on zoloft and stoped caring as well as family issues and got into a car accident that gave me a concussion so I lost some school aswell and I plan on explaining this. I can’t take the SAT until october, it’s the only time my school offers it and i’ve already tried to go into other schools in my area and they are all full. :(

Demographics: Low income, first generation latina and from a small city. My school has a very high drop out rate and many people either go into trades or community college. I live with a single parent which makes 20k year and live in a trailer park I think it has less than 100k in value. However I don’t know my other parent exact salary but still low (farmer).

I plan on majoring in International Relations!

Here’s my other stats:

Extracurriculars:
Speech & Debate went to state 2x but no awards

 Student Advisory Committee

 Student Representative on School Board

Board member for city downtown association

Board member for local children’s museum

 Teen Court participant

Also apart from questbridge, since nothing is a guaranteed, I still would really like to go to top 20 schools in the east coast, apart from ivies, but I don’t know if I should. If you have any advice or suggestions on where to apply or if you think I still have a general shot please let me know. Anything helps i’m genuinely stressing out for senior year 😭
