Hi everyone! 👋 I recently started sharing realistic **Indian mom-life vlogs** — simple routines, getting back into workouts, home-cooked meals, and little everyday moments with my baby.
I’m still very new to vlogging and would genuinely love some feedback on the video and what I could improve. ❤️

Would You Ever Tell a Patient Another Dentist “Messed Up” Their Case?

I’m a specialist dentist, and I’m looking for some perspective from other dentists regarding a situation involving my mother.
About 2 years ago, I performed RCT and crown treatment on one of my mother’s teeth. She was completely fine until about a week ago when she started experiencing pain. There is a possibility that she may have bitten on something hard, and I understand that issues such as crown failure, secondary caries, vertical root fracture, or other complications can occur even years after treatment.
Since I’m currently not in India, she visited another dentist for evaluation. According to my mother, the dentist told her that the RCT and crown had failed and allegedly commented that I had “messed up” her case. What bothered me more was that this conclusion was made without sharing any diagnostic records with us. My mother requested radiographs from each step of the evaluation so I could review them, but the dentist declined to provide them.
I fully understand that treatments can fail and that no dentist can guarantee a tooth will last forever. If there is a fracture or another issue, I would be the first person to acknowledge it. However, I find it unprofessional when a dentist speaks negatively about another clinician’s work—especially before providing records or a detailed explanation of the diagnosis.
My questions for colleagues:
Is it reasonable to diagnose a failed RCT/crown after 2 years solely based on a recent onset of pain?
Would you normally provide radiographs to a patient who requests them for a second opinion?
Have you encountered situations where patients were told negative things about previous treatment without sufficient evidence?
I’m genuinely open to constructive criticism if there was a problem with my treatment. I’m more interested in understanding whether this approach from the other dentist is considered professional and ethical.
Would appreciate hearing your thoughts.
