How often do you native speakers really use passive voice in everyday Japanese?

例えば: 私は犬に手を噛もれました

I know the example is generic, but how often and in what context is the passive voice used in everyday Japanese? Feel free to give me real life examples.

Struggling with studying motivation and purpose (looking for advice)

Some background first: M24 from the US and I’ve been studying Japanese for a little over 4 years now. Using many methods such as Japanese from Zero, Genki, Anki, tutors etc. Recently, I’ve become less and less motivated to study since I don’t have an exact end goal or reason to besides the fact that I’ve been studying for years and don’t want to give up. Ideally, I would want to be in a position where I can use at least some Japanese in my daily life but I don’t have a degree or job that allows me to do so. To sum things up, I’m looking for advice on a general direction I should go towards along with the following..

  1. A new study routine
2.degrees like tourism that would land me a job like a tour guide in a big city where many Japanese travel to(I live near San Francisco)
