Hidden Gem Pt. 2?

Hey,

I've been trying the KYSONA Mercury Ultra Max for over a week and wanted to share my review on it.
It's a review unit sent out by KYSONA, they only sent out the product but have ZERO influence over this review and will be reading it for the first time once the post goes public. All opinions are my own. Nonetheless thanks to them for the opportunity given.

My hand size is 17.5 x 8 cm, and I switch between a relaxed/pincer claw grip and a fingertip grip.

Soo... I thought it would be a Sora V2/V3 clone but it's not quite like that. In hand it feels quite different, obviously it follows the same shape principles of having a rear hump and sides that taper in, but the hump of the Mercury Ultra Max is way more pronounced and it feels way more similar to the X2H in terms of hump. It kind of feels like a shape which fuses a Sora V2/V3 shape and a X2H in one.

Build quality is generally great considering the 45 grams weight (KYSONA advertises it at 41g, +4g is disappointing BUT 45 grams is an amazing weight); I would say it's slightly better compared to the MCHOSE L7 Pro in terms of build quality based on my units. It doesn't flex or creak and there is a really minor movement if you press the bottom shell firmly, while on my MCHOSE L7 Pro there is a minor amount of movement when pressing the sides below the side buttons.

Coating is also pretty good, it's a rubberized coating kind of comparable to the MCHOSE L7 Pro coating, it's grippy enough and served me well (not on the VV4 coating level but for the price it's totally fine).

Clicks are Omron opticals, kinda rare nowadays, and they are very well implemented: generally on the lighter side of the Omron opticals implementations and they are nice to spam. The scroll wheel has very light steps and the same goes for the side buttons, which unfortunately have a bit of post travel and decent-at-best tensioning. Generally it's clear they aimed for very lightly tuned buttons just like MCHOSE does for the L7 line, and I actually prefer lighter button implementations since they help me avoid finger pain.

Skates are white PTFE and it's nice to see they don't use the muddy black ones like most budget brands do.

Performances have been fine/great, no issues to report, and in general I believe it's a very great mouse for the price. I'm genuinely surprised NO ONE really talks about this mouse when in my head it feels like a slightly better MCHOSE L7. Still offers Omron opticals, build quality is good, weight is very competitive and the shape is a mix between a X2H and a Sora V3.

Web driver is ass compared to the MCHOSE or ATK ones and a little better compared to the Attack Shark solutions, was fine to set my settings. I'm not picky on this aspect tbh but it's objectively worse compared to the MCHOSE or ATK solutions.

Overall, it's a recommended mouse for people with small to medium sized hands who are on a tight budget. At 60 EUR, it’s definitely a top contender in this price bracket for claw grip oriented shapes, but if it had been priced at the same price point as the MCHOSE L7, I believe it could have gained way more recognition.

LAMZU MAYA Champion Edition Review

Hi,

Today's review is for the LAMZU MAYA Champion Edition.

My hand size is 17.5 x 8 cm, and I switch between a relaxed/pincer claw grip and a fingertip grip.

The box is quite nice and looks unique, you open it like a book and you get some text Maya related. Inside you find the mouse, the dongle, extra skates, grip tapes (which feel very nice) and a dust cover (to cover the bottom which is open and exposed).

The shape fits best small to medium hands. The mouse has a mid hump and is generally very safe, with a rounded hump and flat sides. Sounds boring but I actually enjoy it a lot, it's one of my favorite smaller shapes rn (I used the Viper Mini for many years as my main). Growing older I found myself appreciating safer shapes more and less aggressive ones to avoid hand pain in general.

Coating feels grippy and of good quality, it's a rubberized coating and the only downside is that it can get quite shiny and can show my fingerprints, it's not a big deal for me personally but it's something worth pointing out. The weight is 45 grams and for me it's the optimal weight. Mice under 40 grams are harder to control for me so I'm happy LAMZU stopped at 45 grams because the build quality is not compromised in any way at this weight: there's zero creaking, rattling or side flex.

The clicks are Omron Opticals, feel snappy & tactile while still having a light to medium actuation force: I think LAMZU did a very good job at implementing the Omron opticals in this mouse. Basically no pre travel at all, the switch activates instantly, but there's quite some post travel (quite common with omron opticals I'd say, doesn't bother me in game). Minor side to side wobble.

Side buttons are also crispy and tactile with a medium actuation force. The scroll wheel encoder is a TTC Gold encoder, steps are very very defined and I personally think the scrolling could be slightly smoother: it's interesting to see how different the TTC Gold encoder can feel from one mouse to another. The skates have a medium glide on a control pad, feel very good for being stock skates.

In game it has behaved very well, in line with the other mice on the market in terms of sensor and I didn't encounter any issue to point out. In conclusion it's a mouse that feels great to use, definitely feels like a high end mouse and my unit came with nearly no QC issues: personally I would have prefered the scroll wheel smoother, something like the VV4 wheel which has defined steps while still maintaining a smoother scrolling experience but that comes down purely to preference.

The price of $119 feels justified in general, really hope LAMZU will come out with some HE implementation for this shape, at a more accessible price than Logitech, maintaining this build quality and weight. That feels like the only thing missing.

Thanks for reading.

Finalmouse Aesthetics in a Viper Mini Shell | Keychron G5 Review

Heyo,
today I'll be reviewing the Keychron G5. This unit was sent out from Keychron for review but they didn't influence it in any way and will be reading it for the first time once the post will go public. All opinions are my own.

My hand size is 17.5 x 8 cm, and I switch between a relaxed/pincer claw grip and a fingertip grip.

This mouse was very interesting for me because my favorite shape is the Viper Mini one and this one definitely takes inspiration from that and I've always loved the ULX look and this mouse strongly recalls that as well.

In the box you get the mouse, the dongle as well as the nano receiver and an adapter, the cable, extra full skates and dot skates too.

Starting from the shape, comparing it next to the Viper Mini, the G5 shape feels slightly wider and the hump is more noticeable on my knuckles. Feels like a 10% bigger Viper Mini overall. On VALORANT it actually felt like a better shape giving a slightly more locked in feeling.

The mouse weighs 43 grams, for me it's the perfect weight: when the mouse is lighter than that I start losing control to be honest, I know some people would go as light as possible but for me under 40 just isn't it. The mouse has no major build quality issue or creaking in real use, you can get the bottom to flex if you press it firmly but nothing you can do in real use anyways. No side flex at all.

The coating doesn't feel like bare plastic but it's quite close to that based on my experience, I wish it had a rubberized coating and the mouse does not come with grips either which was a disappointing combination to see. I can see many people wanting to use grips on this mouse so I highly recommend getting some grips if you want a very grippy feeling.

As for the clicks, they feature Huano Transparent Yellow Shell White Dot and these switches have a tactile feedback and feel crispy, minor pre and post travel and there is ZERO side movement on the main clicks. The rebound is not as quick as Omron opticals: they have a medium actuation force and definitely focus more on giving a noticeable & crispy feedback rather than having a super quick rebound. Overall they felt quite nice on VALORANT where I'm looking for a crispy tactile click but less on Fortnite where I spam click a lot and I prefer a very light press.

The scroll wheel has defined steps and feels overall premium, the side buttons are also very tactile and well tensioned: they have a medium actuation force leaning slightly into the heavier side. Skates are white, rounded PTFE and have a medium glide.

The Web driver is pretty good, most web drivers nowadays are good enough for me anyways but this one is not sub par by any means. Served me well enough for that one or two times I opened it.

In conclusion feels like an 8 out of 10 for me, I like the slightly bigger Viper Mini shape and the weight is very nice. Clicks served me well but definitely shine more in specific situations than others. Took some points out because of the coating and the lack of grip tapes. The mouse costs 109$ and it's not a terrible pricing but I would have preferred to see it around the 70-90$. I'd recommend it to those who want a slightly bigger Viper Mini shape with crispy clicks and, yea, the mouse looks amazing as well.

Thanks for reading & thanks to Keychron for the opportunity, tried my best to be as honest as possible.

Lamzu is peaking (Lamzu Maya Champion Edition Review)

https://preview.redd.it/x0t0d1ayx3ah1.png?width=2160&format=png&auto=webp&s=0f384d78e8148203a5f99ee892cb644c6b138ad6

Heyo,

new review, this time it's the Lamzu Maya Champion Edition turn.

This mouse came out I think last year? Or maybe two years ago? With the name of Maya Doodle, now got new colorways and a new name scheme.

The shape is 1:1 to the normal Maya 4K which I reviewed in the past here as well, fits perfectly my hand size (17,5x8cm) & grip (pincer claw/fingertip grip).

The shape somewhat reminds me of the Viper Mini, it's still wider and the sides are more flat, but it's still a small to medium shape and has a mid hump so it reminds me of my all time favorite VM. Overall very easy to control, both for horizontal and vertical movements.

Coating feels good and grippy as well but the older Maya also had a good one: wouldn't say there was an upgrade in this department.

The weight is 45 grams just like the previous Maya and in my opinion it's the perfect balance, for me mice under 40 grams are harder to control for some reason (I know many disagree but for me it's like that). Even though the mouse weighs 45 grams, the build quality is not compromised in any way: the mouse does not creak even if I try to squeeze it and there's no side flex at all.

The clicks are now Omron Opticals and not Huano Transparent Blue Shell Pink dot anymore, they are for sure lighter while maintaining a good amount of tactility but the switch 'travel' I feel like it's longer (idk if it's placebo or it's actually like that). I definitely like the fact that they are lighter, just wish the travel was a little shorter, overall still feels like an improvement. Basically no pre travel at all, the switch activates instantly, but there's some post travel (quite common with omron opticals I've to say). Side buttons also crispy and tactile with a medium actuation force, top tier.

The scroll wheel encoder has also changed, they now use a TTC Gold encoder instead of the Silver one which they used in the previous version, feels maybe 10% lighter but the steps are still defined.

The skates are a little faster as well, if the previous one were controlled ones, these ones feel balanced to controlled: Lamzu stock skates are always great.

Sensor is a 3950 but I notice no difference with the previous 3395, both are good enough for my use case.

I guess that's it. Easily recommendable if you are looking for a small to medium mouse with a mid hump I'm pretty sure this is S tier.

See you at the next one...

New light-guided adjustable RT Keyboard

Hey,

I've seen that RAWM is releasing a new keyboard on a X post, supposedly with new tech? Light-guided adjustable rapid trigger with optical switches, I suppose that means it's not featuring magnetic switches. Sounds interesting and I personally felt like all these HE keyboards felt nearly the same when I tried them so I'm all in for new tech but I want to see reviews first.

Post I saw: https://x.com/rawmesports/status/2067664263800668280
