Hi everyone,

I’m from the Netherlands and I have been travelling through Germany, Switzerland and Italy past two weeks. I’m heading into Albania in the next few days (probably ferry from Brindisi to Vlora). After Albania, I’ll continue north through Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria before heading back to the Netherlands.

It’s my first time in Albania, so I’d love some (local) advice:

- Best/scenic motorcycle routes? (No off-road)
- Places I shouldn’t miss?
- Any roads or areas I should avoid?
- Is the traffic / driving behaviour comparable to Napels for example?
- What should I expect regarding road conditions? Maybe comparing to south Italy (where the roads are also not really great)
- Any other things I should know as a foreign motorcyclist?

I’m not trying to rush through the country or just visit the typical tourist spots. I’d rather take some great roads, see different parts of Albania and get a feel for the country and its people.

Any route recommendations or things to watch out for would be really appreciated!

Ik ga in augustus mijn eerste echte motorreis maken en heb ruim 4 weken de tijd. Ik twijfel nog tussen twee routes:

1. Een rondje Oostzee (Duitsland, Denemarken, Noorwegen, Zweden, Finland, ferry naar Estland en via de Baltische staten en Polen terug).

2. Via de Alpen en Dolomieten naar Italië, de ferry naar Albanië en vervolgens via Montenegro, Kroatië, Slovenië en Oostenrijk terug.

Ik (27M) reis solo en kampeer het liefst (elke 4 a 5 dagen wel een hostel / Airbnb).

Ik ben vooral op zoek naar de mooiste wegen, natuur en een avontuurlijke route. Steden zijn voor mij minder belangrijk.

Welke route zouden jullie kiezen en waarom? Ervaringen, tips of aanbevolen routes zijn welkom!
