Does BetterSax have any real competitive chance?

I’ve always watched bettersax’s content, but with their new line of saxophone I’ve hardly seen any bad reviews. Do they have a chance to be competitive to brands like Selmer and Yani or will they fall closer to brands like Jupiter?

Is there a reason for these marks on the pads?

They seem to be gold sharpie or something similar that spread from the edge of the pad to the edge of the tone cup, I am assuming a technician put these on but idk why.
