Why do people keep going on dates with people they aren’t attracted to ?

I get wanting attraction to grow. However you shouldn’t be dating someone you aren’t attracted to. Why not just be friends with them first and see if it grows? It seems so selfish and hurtful to date someone you’re not attracted to for weeks or months.

I think I’d be a completely different person if I was pretty

I’m funny looking and look like a man as a woman. As a kid I was bullied all the time and left out. When I became a teenager guys only ever wanted to sleep with me, and that trend has continued. No man can ever be attracted to my face, it’s seemingly impossible. Even when I use more restrictive apps like hinge I get men sending me likes just to ask me to fuck them that day.

I also have had several men treat me like shit due to my face, while dating them. I just feel like I’ve had so much trauma in my life due to my face. People come at me saying I should just love myself and build up my self esteem etc, but if I was pretty I wouldn’t have to. If I was pretty i wouldn’t have been rejected and bullied my entire life. I could’ve had hobbies and interests because I wouldn’t be depressed over how I look 24/7.

im aware other woman who struggle with this cope a lot better than me and are happy. However, this battle is just too hard for me personally. i Know everyone ages, but being seen as desirable for decades of your life instead of being constantly rejected has to matter a shit ton. I even sort of agree that these people typically have better personalities, because they’ve been accepted and treated well their entire lives. Being rejected and mistreated makes you sad, bitter, and closed off.
