We here that Domingo and O’Hara’s take is being billed as a spin-off of the animated feature rather than a full-on adaptation, read ala Disney’s other live-action Beauty and the Beast project that’s in the works, Gaston.

Other live-action adaptations of Disney animated pics in the works are Tangled, which is currently shooting, under the direction of Michael Gracey with Kathryn Hahn, Diego Luna, Milo Manheim and Teagan Croft attached to star. There’s also Stepsisters, a Cinderella spinoff, directed by Akiva Schaffer, Lilo & Stitch 2 from filmmaker Chris Sanders and Impossible Creatures based on the fantasy series by Katherine Rundell.

This is good. I believe it was a hit in Greece compared to other films. Hopefully more in other countries. Idk in US as some says the showing ended on some cities.

I'm really hoping it will get steady... 🙏🤞 Hopefully we get 980 this weekend. Just anxious as Toy Story 5 will be shown in July 3 and will surely be in competition with Michael. Go Japan and of course Russia too!! .... I am patiently waiting as well for LG and Universal for their plans urgh.

What are they waiting... I really hope there's still plans like an event or sing alongs/ dance along. It seems like independent companies have done it but not LG and Universal smh. Should be everywhere... They can have it in his Bday, Holloween and Xmas. 🙏

Ngl, was really disappointed they fumbled China and SK. Should have promoted... On the other hand, MJ is really worldwide without relying to this two. Now, we just wait for Japan 🙌. Was just so anxious and impatient lols.

1. What if Michael was released last year? - October, in time for Holloween, Xmas etc. Tho Zootopia and Avatar is showing as well.
2. What if it was earlier this year? - now this is somewhat good. No major film releases so less competition. I bet it will have more legs... Then re-release in June, August, Hollowen, Xmas etc. Singalongs. 1B must have been achieved early or more.
3. Imagine if they promoted in China and South Korea - these two are among highest markets in cinema. Oppenheimer was even promoted by Nolan and even the Avengers promoted in SK as well. Bohemian with sing alongs and the results was huge. They put all the remaining to Japan to get 1B lol.
4. Lastly, the delay release of digital formats and physical copies. Wish they have delayed it for more months. Other block busters have delayed. That is why Disney always have box offices. Lionsgate and Universal didn't even bother promoting worldwide and the singalong. Looks like they didn't care and just promoted the digital one ahead or early smh.
