My ex and I have been on good terms since we broke up about two years ago. We’ve pretty much stayed in contact, but it’s always been sporadic and not daily or anything. We’ve also always kept each other on social media.
I’ve honestly always had some feelings for him, and I think we’ve both had lingering feelings at different points. But lately I’ve actually started moving on. There isn’t anyone else I’m interested in right now, but for the first time I genuinely feel like I’m pretty much done with him.
I’ve also been more open on social media about going on dates and things like that. I have him on Twitter, where I feel like I and other people are a little more open about casually posting about dating, so he’s probably seen some of it.

He’s always been someone who kind of comes back into my life in some way, even though we’ve never actually gotten back together. So I asked how he currently feels about me and if there are still romantic feelings.

My interpretation is that there’s still some interest and attraction there, but he seems pretty guarded and is trying to keep his emotions under control. I also get the feeling that he may be thinking about me more now that I’m actually starting to move on. I don’t necessarily see this as him wanting to get back together, though. I went on a first date Sunday night with someone who honestly felt like my type 100%. We instantly clicked, had a lot in common, and genuinely had such a great time together. The crazy part is, the date lasted around 12 hours. Every time I felt like it was maybe time to leave, he was the one who encouraged me to stay longer because we were having so much fun. There were about 5 times I had asked him if we should call it a night and he insisted we stay out longer. I felt so good with him so of course I led with my heart.

For context: I met this person at the gym, and there was an immediate attraction/chemistry between us. We originally started talking with romantic intentions, but later he told me he wasn’t looking for anything serious.
