Gives me Sea of Galilee vibes!

Recently remade this to strengthen the knots and polish the metal centrepiece and crucifix. This is one of my favourite designs although black isn’t something I usually go for. Reminds me of the hymn ‘Dear Lord and Father of Mankind’ - for some reason. Do any of you get random associations like that with the rosaries you make too? Haha

Wondering what imagery comes to mind when you look at this rosary? :) I’m curious to hear!

Sensory/Tactile Fidget Rosary (my fav colour so far!)

I really enjoyed making this one - purple is my favourite colour and I lucked out finding these purple silicone beads. It’s Divine Mercy-themed because blood (red) and water (blue) = mercy (purple, the colour of Lent/Advent)!

These sensory rosaries have become such a comfort for me. What do you guys think? :)

Made more sensory/tactile rosaries with new colours this time!

Hello and peace be with you all! It’s been some time since my last post, so I thought I’d share some updates. After making the first few silicone sensory rosaries, I realised I really, really enjoy making and using them! Now I can’t stop making them! 😂

Unfortunately I’ve run out of St. Dymphna centrepieces so these are new designs with other centrepieces and additional colour palettes. I still wanted to convey the mental health/calming vibes though, so I really tried to make each piece as intentionally and prayerfully as I can. 🙆🏻‍♀️

What do you guys think? :) Also, any suggestions for what you’d like to see in a sensory/tactile rosary?

I made another St. Dymphna sensory rosary :D

Thank you to everyone who left comments and feedback on my last post! I felt inspired to make another one, this time with a pocket rosary version. What do you guys think?

I’m especially curious about the pocket rosary - I wanted to make something more portable and discreet, for fidgeting on the go. :D I also wonder whether the wood polygon Pater beads should be silicone instead…but man, 10mm silicone beads are so hard to find!!

Feedback welcome and appreciated. :)

Handmade St. Dymphna Mental health themed sensory/tactile rosary

Edit: i am so thankful for all the comments and encouragement! For anyone interested, it is for sale on my Etsy shop, together with a bunch of other rosaries I’ve made over the last six tumultuous months of my personal life. 🙏🏻**🙆**🏻‍♀️

I’m a neurodivergent catholic and always wondered what it might be like to pray a rosary with beads made from more tactile, sensory materials - in this case, I used 8mm food grade silicone beads for the Aves, and 10mm unfinished beechwood hexagonal beads for the Pater’s. I hope to make more rosaries with the neurodivergent community in mind and look forward to any feedback/suggestions/thoughts from this community!

For context, I have been making rosaries for several years now as a hobby, but only really started to take it seriously this past year as a craft I want to properly hone. :)
