I’ve been using this sunscreen for the past couple of weeks and I’ve thinking this is kinda overhyped.. What is your experience/thoughts?

Skin type: oily skin, acne-prone and a little sensitive

I’ve been thinking about getting a new suncreen since this one is kinda boring and does a meh job like BOF Aqua Fresh or Skin1004 suncreen

What’s a k-beauty product you repurchased more than 3 times?

I realized the products I repurchase are usually not the dramatic ones but the ones that work well for my skin with consistency.

The skin1004 centella ampoule is my holy grain example 😭

Curious what everyone else keeps repurchasing over and over?

I think it’s pretty, what do you think?

Finally have time to do this eye makeup. Recently I got into this colorful eyeshadow but wasn’t sure if it’s safe to use around my eye area but in the end, I did it. The ultimate look is quite decent, and I just love the metallic looking.(kinda bold) However, I am a little shy to show it to my colleague but at the same time, I want to share it with someone, so, here I am! What do you think of it?

Here are the products I use:

Pat McGrath Mothership II: Sublime

Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Canmake Creamy Touch Liner 02 medium brown

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara

Also recently I’ve found a tool on Reddit that can check your dark circles and other skin conditions and out of curiosity, I tried it several times and the results are quite accurate.

False advertising by CeraVe

I (30F) have been on the hunt for a gentle retinol for acne-prone, oily, sensitive skin. I finally gave up on researching Asian skincare (which is typically my preference) and tried out the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum because it was marketed as exactly what I needed.

Turns out this serum contains Isopropyl Myristate, which is known to clog pores and is generally not recommended for use on acne-prone skin.

ETA: it broke me out like crazy so I only figured this^ out when I went to figure out what was going on.

I’m frustrated with myself for not researching the ingredients beforehand, and blindly trusting marketing because I trusted the brand. So I’m just posting here to hopefully save others the trouble, frustration, and breakouts.

All this aside, I’d also love to hear recommendations for gentle retinol serums for acne-prone, sensitive, oily skin!

Can’t let you guys miss it. It has become my HG

I didn’t see anyone mentioned this muji sensitive skin moisturizing milk but this one is really value for money. I’ve been using it for a month and my skin feels good after using this. I don’t feel any irritation, and dryness. This product simply focuses on hydration, without any unnecessary ingredients. No fragrance, alcohol, or parabens. The texture is really soothing and sinks in quickly. I am sensitive and acne-prone skin, sec and third pic shows my redness level before and after using this product, I feel my skin kinda calmed down by using it, but this product is hard to get and becomes exorbitantly expensive. Do you have any dupe for this?

I think I found my PDRN holy grail

I’m Korean and live in Seoul. I’ve spent way too much on Rejuran needles over the years, mostly because I thought topical PDRN was just marketing BS that never actually absorbs.
But I found this xmd stem iii serum that uses the new technology(20nm liposome). This tech was actually featured on the cover of ACS Nano this May (https://www.asiae.co.kr/en/article/2026051209201140128). I heard that 20nm liposome can deliver PDRN at a clinical level deep into the skin.
I’ve been using it for a while now and honestly, my skin feels just as firm as when I was getting the actual injections. So far, so good.
Has anyone else tried this yet?

Let’s talk Retinoids! Do you use one and if so which one and why?

As seen on the picture there are different strengths.

Would love to hear from other people who use a retinoid and their experience with it.

Let’s learn from each-other.

Are these good choices for non-white cast face sunscreens that work for dry, sensitive and acne prone skin? I'm new to all of this....

I have been using grocery store sunscreens and the texture/white casts are making me not want to use sunscreen. This is a major problem since I'm half ginger, pale as hell, and from a European background. I already have a fair amount of moles and freckles and have for years.

As stated, my skin is dry, acne-prone (better since starting spirolactone tho) and sensitive. I don't wear makeup. A hydrated sunscreen 50+ SPF would be great. I'm looking at getting a few sunscreens to try them out but want to make sure I'm picking ones that are likely to be successful, and that's why I'm here. TIA!

Do cleansing milks remove makeup well?

Recently I’ve been thinking of switching to a cleansing milk instead of cleansing oils. Although I really love the Kose Speedy cleansing oil for its efficiency and price, my skin barrier has gotten really damaged lately (redness, eczema, irritation).. so I’m starting to think more seriously about barrier health.

For anyone who uses cleansing milks, do they remove makeup (sunscreen, primer, foundation, powders etc) as effectively as cleansing oils?

What are your favorite cleansing milks?

I don’t feel any irritation, and dryness. This product simply focuses on hydration, without any unnecessary ingredients. No fragrance, alcohol, or parabens. 1st or 2nd? Which one is better for hydration & barrier repair.

Hi everyone,

I’m into Korean skincare and currently looking for a moisturizer that gives good hydration, helps repair the skin barrier, and leaves a healthy dewy glow.

I’m stuck between these two moisturizers and honestly can’t decide...I’ve heard amazing reviews for both.

I've tried the Aestura Atobarrier lotion (not the cream) and it somewhat works okay...gives a velvety finish...but it's not magic.

Would love to hear genuine opinions from anyone who has tried both, for comparison, especially if you have a similar skin type.

My skin type: Normal-combination skin (more on drier side)

I live in a hot & humid climate zone.

Which one worked better for you in terms of:

hydration

barrier repair

dewy finish (without feeling greasy)

layering under makeup/sunscreen

breakouts or clogged pores

Thanks in advance! :)

Anyone else feel like their skin improved after simplifying their routine?

Like, till a few months ago, I had such a long skincare routine, and I realised it wasn't doing much for my skin rather it was damaging it. So since then I have been using a simple cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Now I truly believe less is more.

eight months of barrier repair and i actually cried at my skin this morning in the best way

okay this is gonna sound dramatic but i genuinley teared up looking in the mirror this morning be my skin just looked so calm and normal and i had forgotten what that felt like.

eight months ago i was using a bha every single day, glycolic acid four times a week, retinol three nights, vitamin c every morning, double cleansing every night with a foaming second cleanse, and my skin was a complete mess, randomly stinging, always a bit red and irritated, never looking settled, and i kept throwing more things at it bc i thought something was missing.

the thing that wasnt missing was a product, the thing that was missing was a functioning skin barrier.

stopped absolutely everything eight months ago, spent six weeks with literally just the vanicream gentle cleanser and vanicream moisturising cream, nothing else at all, and slowly slowly things started calming down, the stinging stopped around week two, the redness started genuinley reducing around week four, by week eight my skin just felt calm in a way it hadnt in probably two years.

spent the next six months slowly reintroducing things one at a time with at least three weeks between each, currently using five products total and my skin is the most consistently calm and even it has ever been in my adult life.

the crying this morning was bc i looked in the mirror before putting anything on and just saw normal calm skin and it genuinley moved me bc i had been so far from that for so long and had sort of forgotten it was possible, i had been tracking every week in skinpalai be my facialist said barrier repair is too slow and gradual to assess from memory and she was completely right, went back through eight months of weekly notes this morning and the journey is just right there documented from the desperate early weeks to this morning and it genuinley made the whole thing feel real in a way it hadnt until i saw it laid out.

if ur in the early stages of barrier repair and it feels slow and discouraging just know it does genuinley get there.

what was ur moment of realising ur barrier had actually healed?
