I was feeling bad today for Canucks fans because the team lost the draft lottery, but then I realized there is still a good chance Ivar Stenberg, IMO the best player of the draft, is available at #3. The Leafs will likely take McKenna at #1, and there is a significant chance the Sharks take Reid at #2 as they already have a wicked forward group but are a bit thin at defense.
I remember thinking my fellow Habs fans were crazy for thinking Demidov could be available at #5 in the 2024 draft. Then, it turns out he *was*, and in a sense it felt like winning the lottery because Demidov would have been the Habs' pick at #2.
I guess what I'm trying to say is you guys shouldn't be that bummed out about picking #3 (yet). As long as Stenberg is still available, in the end you might get the Canucks' pick at #1 anyways. I fully believe he would have been the #1 pick given how obsessed the Canucks are with Swedish players.
