Boys can be magical too, you know [Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure]
Real talk: Do Khaenriahns ever acknowledge the suffering of the other nations during the Cataclysm?
Despite the cataclysm naturally being a part of almost every Khaenriahns story, I can't recall a single time a Khaenriahns expressed their sympathies for a non-Khaenriahn victim of the cataclysm, despite the fact that it wrought havoc on all the nations of Teyvat. With the exception of the GOAT, the Best to Ever Do It, Capitano.
So many people died, gods and humans, all to make sure the Abyss doesnt destroy the rest of Teyvat. Egeria, Rukkhadevata, Makoto, The Belyi Tsar, Makoto, The Six Heroes of Natlan, Bosacius, Kistune Saiguu, The Viridescent Venerer, and so many civillian casualties. But talk to a Khaenriahn
The cataclysm was a result of Khaenriahs hubris and paranoia, and greed ot get their hands on a power they could use to go to war with the other nations. And while the Sinners are the direct ones at fault, all of Khaenriah was involved in the centuries of research and compliance with mad kings like Irmin that allowed the Sinners to get their hand on said abyssal power.
But the characters dont ever seem to so much as care to acknowledge the pain and suffering that was caused by it, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when they act like the Cataclysm was something caused by Celestia and meant exclusively to make Khaenriahns alone suffer.
The kind hero is terrifying from their opponent's point of view
Luffy vs Lucci in Egghead Island (One Piece) - Luffy, the usually goofy and very kind hero (even if he hates being called that) looks like a demon once he activates Gear 5 in Lucci's eyes. For good reason, Gear 5 is a bullshit power that anyone in universe would hate to go up against as it literally lets Luffy do anything he wants
Frieren's Clone (Frieren) Frieren is one of the most powerful mages in the world, with over 1000 years of experience and a being a member of the hero's party who defeated the demon king. She always holds back in her fights as her philosophy is that "basic magic is enough to defeat mages of this age" but her clone has no such qualms and goes completely out showing just how dangerous Frieren can be if she tries.
Deku vs Overhaul (My Hero Academia) not much to say, Overhaul is an appalling villain, Deku is a righteous hero, and he looks scary while delivering a much deserved ass whooping to him
Deus Ex Machina, but it doesn't feel cheap or unsatisfying
"A Deus ex Machina is when some new event, character, ability, or object solves a seemingly unsolvable problem in a sudden, unexpected way. It's often used as the solution to what is called "writing yourself into a corner," where the problem is so extreme that nothing in the established setting suggests that there is a logical way for the characters to escape." - TvTropes
Hermes in the Circe Saga (EPIC) comes to Odysseus' rescue out of nowhere, giving him Holy Moly to be able to match Circe's magical powers, without which he'd be enitrely powerless against her and probably die.
Euripides (Ancient Greek Poet) was so well known for abusing the DEM, that even the people of his time grew sick of it. Some even accused him of originating the literary device himself. Despite that, his works are still widely regarded today. Such as Medea, Iphigeneia in Tauris, and Orestes.
Cells At Work! - A lot of times in the series, when the immune system fails to fix the issue by itself, the medical treatment acts as a DEM of sorts. Such as the Blood Transfusion episode, where blood loss leads the body to cool down, and when all hope seems lost, a blood transfusion saves the day.
[Make the Exorcist Fall in Love] The Demon Lords of the Seven Deadly Sins
Asmodeus, I love her attractive upper body contrasted with her horrific lower half, corrupted halo, and multiple heads Asmodeus is traditionally depicted with.
Mammon, the sin of Greed is a business man. Simple and effective.
Leviathan, the sin of envy, envies how others can befriend each other when she is too strong even lightly tapping someone kills them, hence she takes the form of a little girl.
Which is just a little uncomfortable as she constantly talks about giving birth and calls herself mommy, which is not lost on the story as the characters originally think she's being sexually abused when she says "Father told me to give birth." When she is infact referncing the command Be Fruitful and Multiply from the bible, as she is the mother of all sea life. Her true form is more akin to an actual Leviathan. Also funfact her mouth is a gate straight to Gehenna.
Beelzebub the sin of gluttony, so his weapons take the form of eating utinsels. He has insect wings in his base form and angel wings after eating an angel's wing.
Belphegor the sin of sloth is a tired looking young boy in an animal onsie and his powers take the form of child drawings and plushies. Also a lot of snail motifs in his base form.
Shout out to the design of the dead in his Gehenna, you can see rope burns, gunshot wounds, wrist slits on them which is a reference to the fact suiciders are often said to end up in the ring of sloth in hell.
Lucifer is the most nomral looking of the demon lords, as the lord of pride, he also never lost his angelic powers so he looks in no way demonic. Also yes he looks like Laios from DunMeshi.
Satan, Sin of wrath, he appears sparingly and has yet to make his "I AM THE LORD OF X" debut, but he has some sick garden of eden motifs in his deisgn
