For my Coffee Lovers
What is your best coffee setup? Are you an instant-and-hot-water person (best instant brand)? Java Press? Aeropress? French Press? Percolator? Pour-over/Drip, or do you just find a Starbucks or a Gas Station?

What would everyone consider a good pack-out weight to carry? I realize this will vary across the spectrum from a 1-2 day tour to a “I’m never coming back” solo nomad pack out. What would you consider lightweight, medium, and heavy?
What does everyone bring that is essential, a luxury, and/or just nice to have? A power bank would be essential. Which one do you carry? Is solar power a viable alternative or a back-up? Bike head unit or just cellphone?
I am in the gathering gear part of getting into bike touring. This got me thinking about which luxury item(s) other riders will absolutely take, no matter the weight cost.
Can someone please explain the fit-check post? Do people actually need a stranger to tell them how something fits and feels on their own body? Or are these low-key I-can-fit-race-fit-kit-and-not-look-like-a-muffin, shade posts. As a proud muffin top I need to know.
Hello everyone I am in the learning, research part of getting into biketouring. When I started road biking about 4 years ago I made a lot of costly mistakes by buying lower quality gear that I have been replacing. I don’t want to make costly mistakes with biketouring.
Ortliebs pannier bags seem to be the bags to get. Are there cheaper quality alternatives, or should I just get the best (I am assuming they are the best). I don’t mind spending the money, but I also don’t want to pay for a name. Next question - is there a rack that works best with the Ortlieb bags and are there racks to avoid. I have a hybrid gravel bike with disc brakes and quick release axles (plan to replace it with a through axle).
I am not planning any trips this year as I will be working on getting the gear. But next year will be planning a weekend shake-out the gear trip and then a longer (7-10) railtrail trip. Thanks
