I’m doing my first top end rebuild and I’m having a hard time getting the piston to go back in the cylinder. It’s definitely the right size. I tried putting the old one back in for context but couldn’t even get that one to fit so I must be doing something wrong. Any thoughts
Picked up a used 97 kdx 200. it was super slow to crank when I got it home but got it cranked over in about 5 minutes. Next morning I cleaned the carb and petcock out and adjusted the slide screw at idle. Cranked fine and ran it pretty hard for an hour. Today I’ve tried kicking it over about 100 times, adjusting the idle air screw along the way. I got it cranked once, was running super rich for about 20 seconds and bogged down and stalled. Pulled spark plug and it looked slightly damp but good, changed it anyway. 110 psi compression, 90-125 is good. Got good spark. I feel like it’s gotta be the carb that’s messing it up, just don’t know where to begin. It has been super humid (94%) the past couple days and it was probably 60-70% when I test road it. Any help would be appreciated.
