Pressure canning corn

I am new to pressure canning. I followed the uchfp instructions for hot pack corn. I am used to waterbath canning where everything is submerged, and my pressure canned corn is not fully submerged in water. just hoping someone will reassure me that's totally OK?

Indigotin won't precipitate out of solution

I am extracting indigo powder from Japanese indigo. I fermented in water for three days, aerated, raised the pH with calx, aerated some more, and now the indigotin won't settle out of suspension. Any advice? It's been sitting for more than 24 hours.

Will it set fruit?

No idea what kind it is. I pollinated it by hand. It's getting the "line". What do you think?

Are my onions toast?

They just never got big. And I see other people are harvesting now. Are mine a lost cause? Or could they still make decent onions?

What is eating my plants?

Best guesses? Goes back to the same plants every night and strips them to the bone. Amaranth, sunflowers, beans, had a go at my peppers. Vancouver Island.

I do have cabbage moth caterpillars on my brassicas but this doesn't seem like them. Doesn't quite seem like slugs either....

update: I think its cutworms! I found one of the caterpillars, and the "skeletonizing" of plants describes the damage perfectly.

Unpaid labour

I am in BC. My job requires me to go into work before and after a shift to pick up and drop off equipment required for the shift. I personally feel like this is unpaid labour. If I am required to go and get the equipment prior to and after my paid shift starts, I consider that time that I am working, and I think that it is unpaid labour. I am told by my boss that "that is not the right way to look at it, you need this gear to do your job". I assume unpaid labour is illegal in BC? Are there parts of the employment standards acts that could help clarify? Thanks!
