Is $275 CAD reasonable for labor for 24 meals?

I’m starting a small meal-prep service and I’d love to get some opinions on my pricing.

I have a potential order for 2 people for 6 days, with lunch and dinner every day, so 24 meals total.

The way I usually do it is that the client covers the groceries for the proteins, and I cover the rest of the groceries. I do all the shopping/prep, cooking, portioning.

For this order, the protein would cost approximately:

  • Halal Chicken: $63
  • Halal Ground beef: $33.96
  • Salmon: $20
  • Total protein: ~$117

The client wants high-protein meals with no carbs, and the menu includes things like chicken shawarma, beef kefta, chicken taco bowls, salmon with vegetables, chicken pesto, fajitas, Caesar salad, beef burger bowls, and stuffed peppers.

I was originally thinking of charging $15 per meal for labor, which would be $360 for 24 meals. But I feel like that might be a little expensive for the client, so I’m considering giving them a discounted package price of $275 for all the labor.

So the client would pay for the $117-ish protein groceries + $275 labor, while I cover the remaining groceries.

Do you think $275 for labor is reasonable for 24 meals, considering all the prep, cooking, portioning, etc..? Or would you charge more/less?

I HATE THIS SM

Man, I’m starting to hate this job. First my supervisor ( read my previous post in this subreddit) , and now the assistant who supervises on the weekends.
There were literally 0 calls in the queue when this happened, and there had been 0 calls earlier too. I wasn’t moving my mouse or using Teams/Outlook, but I was in queue on the actual software we use to take calls.
This lady tells me I had been idle for more than 10 minutes. I explained that I was idle on Teams, but NOT on the call software, and I even sent her a screenshot showing that I had been in queue for almost two hours.
She didn’t apologize or anything. She just said, “Anyways, it’s your break now, please take your break, no worries.”
But I was confused because I felt like I was being accused of not working when I literally was in queue. So I asked her to check the call software because I wanted to understand where she was getting the idle time from. She just kept saying, “Don’t worry about it.”
So I confronted her and told her that I didn’t appreciate being accused when I was doing my job and had been in queue the whole time.
She said, “I wasn’t accusing you.”
Then she called me, and honestly, she was being so rude in her tone and wouldn’t even let me talk. She kept repeating that she didn’t like that I said she was accusing me and that she has to do her job.
I AGAIN explained that I was in queue the entire time, and she was like, “Okay, but it showed me you were idle, and I don’t want someone to be idle while other people have to take calls.”
Like… ma’am???? ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME???
I’m literally telling you I WAS IN THE CALL QUEUE. There were no calls. What exactly was I supposed to be doing? TF? 😭

Beginner investor here!

Hello so I recently opened a TFSA and I’ve put $150 in it so far. I know that’s a small amount, but I’m planning to contribute to it every month and hopefully increase my contributions over time.
I’m trying to figure out the best way to grow it. I’d love to eventually double what I put in, and I’m wondering what stocks or ETFs people would recommend for someone starting with a small amount.
I’ve been looking into XEQT, but I’m open to other suggestions too. What would you personally invest in if you were starting with $150 and adding money monthly?

This season was mehh

They focused wayyy too much on the group dates. Why didn’t they send them on those one-on-one dates like last season, when they sent those two who ended up breaking up to that house and they kissed?

Was this appropriate feedback from my supervisor, or am I overreacting?

This is gonna be a bit long but I had a meeting with my supervisor recently, and honestly, I left feeling really uncomfortable about some of the things she said.
One of the main things we discussed was the dress code. She kept telling me that my dresses are “too short” and that I don’t respect the dress code because I wear dresses above the knee. My outfits honestly aren’t even that bad like they’re not extremely short or revealing, and I usually wear them with boots. I genuinely thought they were appropriate for work.
I told her that I’ve seen other people wearing similar outfits, but she insisted that “no one wears outfits like that at the contact center.” She kept emphasizing that my dresses were too short, even though they’re simply above the knee.
She also brought up the last time we took the train together and said she had noticed my leg hair. She told me that I shouldn’t wear things like that anymore. I was honestly shocked that my leg hair was being brought up in a conversation about workplace dress code. I understand that there may be a specific dress code I need to follow, and I’m completely willing to respect an actual policy, but I don’t understand why my leg hair would be relevant.
Another thing she brought up was how I communicate on Override, which is a Teams group chat with all the supervisors. She said that sometimes, because I use the crying emoji, ( im 22 btw and most supervisors are super chill so I feel comfortable talking in a non corporate way) and she said I come across as a “cry baby.” I do occasionally use emojis when I’m messaging, but I wasn’t expecting feedback about my communication to be phrased that way.
What made the conversation confusing for me is that throughout the meeting, she repeatedly acknowledged that I’m good at my job. She kept telling me that I know how to solve problems, that I show sympathy and understanding toward customers, and that I generally do a good job. So I understand that the meeting wasn’t entirely negative, and I appreciate that she recognized my strengths. But the comments about my appearance and the way I communicate still really bothered me.
I’m completely open to constructive criticism and being told if something I’m doing at work isn’t appropriate. What bothered me was the way some of these comments were made, especially the comment about my leg hair and being called a “cry baby.”
At the end of the meeting, I just thanked her for the feedback and left. I didn’t really know what else to say in the moment.
Am I overreacting to this? Would you consider these normal workplace feedback/comments from a supervisor, or is this inappropriate?
