Painting vs Tapestry, which one gives more aesthetic points?

Need to know. My artist is focused on tapestries ATM, but am curious if paintings have more aesthetics because it's a painting.

If both same, which one more costly to produce or which one provides more XP?

Lavish food recipes and ingredients

How do y'all make specific dishes when the cook would just pick up random stuff?

Even if every available ingredient for a seafood dish is over abundant, the cook would not make the seafood dish. Sometimes it would be bread, or something else.

Make a room with nothing but those ingredients in and hope for the best they don't make bread again?

I wish they make a cookbook or something, an extra furniture where a massive cookbook in a pedestal, if placed in the kitchen, would allow you to cook specific dishes.

Things I learned: enumerations of a noob

Underwater construction: game would certainly glitch out and say "no path to" etc etc... to circumvent this, have one citizen who's sole job for the entire day is building underwater.. drop to the construction layer, place one block at a time, and then immediately have that builder prioritize that construction. Best to pause the game then place the build zone, prioritize it, then resume the game. You may also do it in the slowest game speed possible and you may have to do it several times, if you have a lot of people, a lot of pets, the game gets confused and your builder would not listen. It is very important to have your builder prioritize it immediately before anyone else is queued for building.

Invisible items / everything invisible: just save and relaunch the game.

Sending a caravan: NEVER EVER do it in winter. A 1% chance of ambush is a 100% chance of ambush in winter. Have tried it several times, it's always 100% in winter, the numbers lie. This may be the game's way of reenacting historical accuracy since people don't really go pillaging during planting/harvest season.

Training: plan ahead to prioritize training above everything else. You will grow more than enough food, if food is scarce, go hunting. Prioritize the tech tree for military as well.

Ballistas are better than everything else for defense cos of reusable ammunition, and rapid firing.

Have one guy who's expertise are all in animal handling. Having pets are a must have in this game. You will progress faster.

Underground storage: sometimes the game would bug out and would heat up the room instead even if the wall candelabras are snuffed out. I tried to make a massive underground storage facility and tried to buff it to palatial in value, every time a candelabra is built, it immediately heats up the room. What to do? Ice doesn't work cos the room is still hot even though it's been two seasons since torches were lit? Save and relaunch the game!

Enemy carcass: pet food. That's it. I have a section in my underground storage around 16x24 blocks wide, all full of enemy carcasses. It is enough to feed all my wolves all year round, and the sieges would replenish it quite quick (40-50 people per enemy siege)

Growing trees indoors: build a structure at least three stories high, with one or two sides of it all windows, all the way up. It should be at least three windows wide. The side with the windows should have uninterrupted views of the sun during at least half a day. Best to have the windows facing east or west for full sun exposure. The tree should be planted at least two tiles away from the windows. For better results, build a bigger room with a higher ceiling for more windows, keep the windows open at all times btw.

Deep water building: Forbidden as there is no path to it.... even though they just built something in the same area

am trying to dam up a section of deep water for land reclamation and yet the game telling me i can't? citizens just built a slope in the same deep water area, so why can't i? they can build if the structure is near them so why can't they build anything? i tried building directly beside the soil site connected to the raised landmass near the first slope but they cant even do that one, same reasons, forbidden cos no path.... is this a bug?

How would you evolve Cherno Alpha?

Cherno was the last of the T-90 series, meaning there were multiple cherno alphas back then but with different names, same with the simultaneous production of Horizon Braves in the movie..

So... let's say somewhere in the Siberian Tundra, theres an unfinished yet mostly complete Cherno Alpha frame, no reactor though... how would YOU evolve Cherno Alpha so that it can take down a Category 5 on it's own? or several 5s at once?

Am hoping they go the gundam route when they eventually make a new pacific rim movie.. take the old one, give it new weapons and armor, etc etc... Cherno's the tankiest, so in gundam it would be like Gundam Virtue

Built 7 ballistas & 200 bolts... Where are the bolts???

I can't find them anywhere.

I made a dump site near the ballistas exclusively for the bolts and yet, nowhere?

I held a shocked Pikachu face for 15 minutes or so when GIANTS with steel armor with great swords and battering rams appeared... 10 FREAKING STEEL ARMORED GIANTS!!

Before this extortion event I've seen several Giants and thought the ballista would work super well on these guys so I made 7 facing the zwinger zone leading up to the main defense point / gate house.

7 ballistas, 200 bots so far, and 7 2x6 dump zone right behind the ballistas for the bolts...

Initially I thought this is another game bug like queued walls not appearing yet the hitbox is still there, not allowing you to queue anything on that spot but instead be able to queue structures around it, and can be fixed by going down then up again on the world layer... But I've been doing that repeatedly and I cannot find the bolts, it's not even in the overview tab, I can't find it in items or resources, there's not even an option for ammunition.

Initially I'd plan to make trebuchets but where the incursions usually starts is a forested area, and I need a lot of wood, and the incursions usually happen in summer, so ballistas...

But then the incursion happened... The instantaneous dread and jaw drop after realizing that seven of my people went down from the gatehouse tower all the way to the industry zone approximately 200 blocks away!

The dumpsite is empty, I thought the pets have already hauled it all to the dumpsite but all seven of them went to the woodworking station to get a bolt. There's nothing there, it's empty, nothing on the floors but they all make a beeline to the two woodwork stations to get a bolt.

10 citizens died, 12 remain. The ballistas have failed me and those giants are too scary.

WHERE ARE THE DAMN BOLTS?!?!?!!!

Please tell me what's the latest when it comes to underground storage.. I'm stumped

I've seen a lot of guides saying bigger rooms mean cooler spaces, so I made a massive 16x24 underground cellar at bedrock.

YouTube clips would have their rooms at around 2 degrees but for some reason, my huge cellar is at 5-6 degrees, I'm confused.

I tried putting clay walls all over for more insulation as suggested but that only raised the temperature of the room further to 7!

They say ice would no longer be needed for a mega cellar but I can't even make wine there (has to be below 6 right?)

Did I waste precious time following tutorials that are outdated?

What's the lastest mechanics for underground storage?

Caravan screen says "Not enough value for trade agreement" ... help

Total value of goods is 1657 gold and yet it says not enough value for an agreement, what am I missing? Also... Is there a way to know how much minimum value is needed to conduct trade anyway? This is the first time I'm sending a caravan to Enstone.. I can click Accept, but I'd rather hear from all of you first before sending some people to Enstone, it's been a season since the last extortion raid and I feel like they'll be back when the caravan is out. I don't wanna have some people out there while their skills are needed here at home defending it (and doing construction)

I've built a modest room on the second floor of a wooden keep I've made as a library and it's still considered a "spare room"... Why?

Room type: spare room

Room temperature: 11.7c

Impressiveness: modest

Spaciousness: 42

Total wealth: 424.5

Average aesthetic value: 6.3

It has two wall torches, several beams for support (rooms and defense structures above), two windows, and 10 wall bookshelves..

Research table also there..

Why isn't it a library? What am I missing?
