S&W gunsmiths?

S&W gunsmiths?

Rip… was getting ready for a range day, noticed optic was a little loose, took one screw off, went to remove the other and it was already gone 🫩

Any good recommendations for a smith and Wesson gunsmith? Also over 10k rounds and the striker spring feels a bit weak so probably want to change that out while it’s there

Thanks for the help!

Knack tutoring

Recently got an email offering to become a tutor for classes I’ve gotten A’s in - I was wondering if anyone actually uses Knack and if it’s worth checking out to sign up as a tutor?

Just trying to think of ways to make a little extra spending money but also very dedicated to studying so I don’t want to take a full job now

Thanks for any help!

Path to quant or risk analyst?

Hi everyone a bit nervous for my planned out course load till I graduate (about 3.5 semesters left)

Hoping to maybe gain some insight if what I have seems feasible or if I might just be pushing my luck and set up for failure since it’s basically all gas with zero breaks till the end, also if I’m even on the right track?

I’m majoring in economics with a focus on econometrics and pairing it with a CS minor - hoping to get a career as a quant or risk analyst

Pretty much finished with the economics major, just my electives of applied econometrics, time series and data analysis, and financial economics (might throw game theory in there)

My big concern is with my CS minor - lots of math like linear algebra, and statistics left and the entirety of actual CS like data science (1&2) , algorithms, database systems (SQL) and numerical methods

Is this even the right courses I should be looking at? Kind of lost in it all since I don’t have much of a background here either

Any help would be great! Very nervous but I think I can do it but I also have no idea what to expect!

Edit: I can pm a detailed course load of each semester but couldnt post a photo here for some reason

Feeing alone, is it just me?

Been feeling very disparaged lately, hoping to maybe get some advice, encouragement or personal stories about similar events

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post, but here’s the story

26 male attending university and recently responded to a post in the university subreddit about if we feel it’s too political

I gave my experience where I was already disconnected since student body is heavy liberal and a professor even calling me racist for asking questions about our lecture

Well the response was as you can imagine, horrible. Despite trying to have a conversation about the need for critical thinking and college being a place to develop critical thinking skills - I was once again downvoted and basically told by several comments critical thinking is mutually exclusive to the left since critically thinking MUST yield empathic and progressive thinking…

(the irony of empathy is not lost on me… hard to believe it’s impossible to be empathetic solely based on your political beliefs)

So just feeling even more disconnected to the school now I guess, haven’t been able to connect well and starting to feel pretty alone in it all. Moved to the US from Canada a few years ago and still just haven’t made a single friend, I do go out and enjoy my hobbies but idk haven’t been able to connect I guess - lost all my friends too after they realized I’ve adopted the conservative mindset and ideas

Anyway just wanted to feel heard I guess, hope some people can give advice or encouragement on how to move forward, thank you in advance!

Transmission oil pan bolt broken

Was wanting to drop the pan and clean it out for my transmission oil change, but while taking the corner bolt off it snapped the head off 😞 now it’s leaking from that corner :/

Any advise on how to remove the remaining bolt thats stuck? Tried a 4341 HSS screw extractor with no luck so ordering a 6542 HSS kit instead

Hoping the 6542 screw extractor will work but anything I can try in the meantime?

Thank you for any help!
