Hi everyone,
I wanted to check if anyone has been in a similar situation with RBC or other banks in Canada.
I recently completed my background check through a third-party provider (Sterling/First Advantage), and it has already been marked as completed and sent to RBC.
My PGWP has been officially approved, and I have submitted my work permit document to the immigration team.
How long did RBC immigration. take after submitting the final work permit to clear for the onboarding?
Hi everyone,
My PGWP was approved on June 3, 2026, and I received the approval letter in my IRCC account.
I’m currently in Halifax and was wondering how long it took others to receive the physical work permit by mail after approval?
If you applied recently, especially from Nova Scotia or nearby, I’d really appreciate if you could share your timeline.
Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone,
I had a quick question regarding RBC’s hiring process. I’ve already completed my Sterling background check, and now I’m waiting for RBC’s internal background verification to clear.
For those who’ve been through this recently, how long did it take for RBC to complete their internal background check after Sterling was done?
Would really appreciate any insights or timelines you can share. Thanks in advance!
Hey! I accepted an offer with RBC on May 6 and I’m currently in the background check stage.
Recently, a contractor reached out to me and scheduled an interview for a different role at the same company (different team). At the time, I didn’t think much of it, but it turns out they later found out I had already accepted the other offer.
The contractor got upset when she realized this and said she wasn’t aware I was already in process / had accepted.
Now I’m a bit concerned:
Could this situation negatively impact my accepted offer?
Do internal HR teams care if you were briefly in multiple pipelines?
Did I handle this incorrectly by engaging with the contractor at all?
For context: I fully intend to proceed with the role I already accepted and am not trying to switch.
Would appreciate any insight, especially from people in banking or large companies.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to check if anyone here has gone through the background check and visa document verification process with RBC recently.
I submitted the following documents on May 19, 2026:
SIN document
IRCC letter confirming my authorization to work while my application is in process (My implied Status)
IRCC Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) for my PGWP application
Screenshot of my application status from my IRCC account
Processing fee receipt
I haven’t heard back yet, so I’m curious—how long did it take for you to get your background check and document verification completed?
Any insights or timelines would be really helpful. Thanks!
Hey everyone! Just wondering if anyone here has started working with RBC while on implied PGWP status? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience—whether it was accepted, any issues you faced, or how the process went overall. Thanks!
