Pain in front of legs
Hello!
I am a weightlifter who recently turned to running. I am a very injury prone guy unfortunately and have had many injuries during my weightlifting years.
I have been running for about 2 weeks and ran my first 5k today. I came in at 28:34 seconds which I’m happy about.
However, my feet and legs are killing me. It’s not the cardio that is holding me back but rather my joints. I am very worried about getting an injury. I do not run in good shoes, I wanted to wait to buy good ones until I have proved to myself that I will stick to running as they are rather expensive. The shoes I run in are some Nike sneakers that I’ve worn for 4 years.
I am not sure if it is a running form issue or the shoes or a combination of both. It hurts both in the feet and the front of the calves, like on the anterior side of the bone there. It also hurts tons if I were to run on treadmills which I avoid. Always same place, front side of the bone where the calves are.
Any tips?
