Outer Wilds DLC themed forest card

This was my second attempt at this one. I'm really happy with how it turned out! I'm always looking to improve, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

How to fix paint too thick?

This is my third time making an alter. I'm working on this piece from the Outer Wilds DLC. I did the black part of the sky too low and had to cover it with quite a bit of lighter paint, and now I notice it's got a distinctive line aabove the horizon. I'm considering sanding that part down and redoing it to make it thinner. Is there any other simpler method to fix my issue? Thanks!

Is this a fungus?

I bought this cactus a few months ago. It started to have a powdery substance appear on the outside. I wiped it off because I wasn't sure what it was. Then, I did some research and began to believe it was something more like farina. I then decided to not touch it any more. That was a couple months ago. Now it's formed a very solid structure. It kind of feels firm like a stone. I don't know if I was right about farina, if it's corking, if it's fungal, or if something else is going on.. The darker photo was an older one when I first noticed the substance.

Thanks in advance!

I tried following a Bob Ross video

This is my second alter. I think one issue I had was that because I used a gray base layer rather than white, the sky ended up much darker than his and I had to compensate for that a lot as I went...

It was also really hard to get the fine lines for the trees... Would POSCA markers be good for fine details like that?

Another issue I had was that it was hard to get the waterfall lines to work while using really watered down paints, but with thick paint it goes on way too strong.. not sure how to get the texture I want there.

What is this on my tephrocactus?

I recently purchased this tephrocactus and noticed these circles on some of the needles. Not sure what it is and if I should be concerned or not. The one at the top missing half was a flower that had already wilted when I got it. The store owner took the flower out, but said to wait for the rest to dry out before removing it.

My first attempt at alt art

Hello,

I have a small amount of experience with acrylic paint, and some experience with various art mediums. I decided making mtg alters sounds like a fun hobby. I'm mostly a green player, and I love plants, especially trees, succulents, and cacti. For my first try, I wanted to make a baobab tree. I think it turned out decent, but I don't really know how to make the clouds look realistic. Also, the paint ended up kinda bumpy, and I'm not sure how to make sure it stays smoother.

Any feedback or tips would be greatly appreciated!
