Would there be interest in a Pathfinder 1e character creator/manager?

Hi everyone! I recently made a Windows character creator/manager for D&D 3.5e, and I’m considering building a Pathfinder 1e version next.

The 3.5e app is designed to make the bookkeeping-heavy parts of the game easier: character creation and leveling, stats, feats, equipment and bonuses, spells, transformations/limited-use abilities, prerequisites, homebrew, imports/exports, and campaign/DM tools.

Since PF1e has a lot of the same appeal—huge character-building depth and a lot of moving parts—I wanted to ask the community before committing the time:

  • Would you use a dedicated PF1e character creator/manager on Windows?
  • What would be the must-have features for you?
  • Are there existing tools you love, or gaps you wish a new tool would solve?
  • Would Android support and character syncing matter to you?

3.5e Windows Character Creator/Manager

A little while ago I posted my Android 3.5e character creator/manager here: original post.

I really appreciated all the feedback, bug reports, feature requests, and encouragement. A few people asked whether I might bring it to PC—so I’m happy to say the new PC version is here:

OpenSheet 3.5e SRD

It’s a character creator and manager intended to make the bookkeeping-heavy parts of 3.5e easier: tracking stats, feats, equipment bonuses, spells, rages, Wild Shape, prestige-class prerequisites, and the many little moving pieces that make the system great (and occasionally a lot to manage).

I’ve also kept the feedback from the Android release in mind, including support for custom feats and continuing work on the huge range of 3.5e options.

I’d genuinely love to hear what you think—especially if you spot an incorrect rule interaction, missing option, or feature that would make it more useful at your table. 3.5e is enormous, so community feedback has been incredibly helpful already.

Note: As before I did use Claude for error checking and code review, it was just me working on this and I wanted to make a good first impression and not be nothing but guess haha. For transparency I did want to mention this.

PCGen 3.5e SRD - App Showcase - Free

Showcasing my Android 3.5e D&D character creator and manager app. It auto calculates feats, stats, equipment bonuses, racial bonuses, etc. It tracks wild shape, rages and spell slots, etc. There a prestige class explorer to show you what you need to work towards prerequisites wise. I added lots of settings for lots of play styles and views.

The app is free in the play store, I would love player feed back if anyone cared to give it a try!

I know how convoluted 3.5e can be (one of the reasons I love it) but I wanted to make it a bit more accessible.

Testing App to Help Testers with Multiple BETA Apps

A small Android app I built for myself to make testing multiple beta apps less tedious. You pick a list of installed apps, and it opens each one for 30 seconds (or a set time), then returns to itself and moves on to the next — down the whole list. Handy when you're in a bunch of closed tests at once and just need to actually open each app regularly.

What it does

  • Select any apps installed on your phone
  • Opens each for a set time (default 30s, you can change it)
  • "Closing" just means it returns to itself — it doesn't force-stop anything
  • Randomize order and Repeat (loop) options
  • Templates: save a group of apps and re-check them all with one tap
  • Checks off each app as it runs, so if you stop partway you can see where you left off

Permissions it asks for, and why

  • Display over other apps — required so it can bring itself back to the foreground after each app (Android blocks this otherwise)
  • Notifications — shows a progress notification with a Stop button
  • It lists your installed apps so you can pick them

It has no internet permission, no accounts, no analytics — nothing leaves your phone.

Notes

  • Some phones (Xiaomi/MIUI, Oppo, etc.) have extra "background pop-up/auto-start" restrictions — if it can't return to itself, enable those for the app and turn off battery optimization for it.
  • It's a rough personal build, so expect rough edges. Feedback welcome.

Hope it helps someone else juggling a pile of beta tests!
