My wife's birthday is coming up, and since she just started residency, I wanted to get her some comfort gifts so she can maximize relaxing when she gets home. Right now, I have a terry cloth bathrobe and a memory foam sleep mask. Wanted to check if there are any other recommendations? Thanks!
Big fan of oysters (grew up in the South) and I figured this would be a good drink. I’m from Peru and I thought Pisco would be a nice addition to this twist on a dirty martini!
Oyster brine made by shucking the oyster and pouring the juice into a mason jar. Then adding half a lemon and 5-6 drops of saline.
Actually drink is:
2 oz Pisco (gin or vodka is fine too)
1 oz brine
0.5 oz lime juice
Shake and Double strain
Express lemon peel

My wife and I are soon moving to Great Neck from Atlanta as she is starting residency there soon. Since we are going to be there for at least the next three years, really wanted to get everyone's opinions on a couple of spots:
-good gyms that don't break the bank
-best places to play pickleball (indoor and outdoor), including leagues
-best sports bars (our teams are the Saints, Knicks, Ole Miss, and Chelsea)
-bookstores/cafes
-cocktail bars
-beaches
or anything else that you might recommend. We both have cars so distance is not a huge issue. My wife is from Westchester so this is a bit of a homecoming for her, but I'm from Mississippi, so I'm really stepping into a whole new world here. Excited to be close to the city but not to be in the city. Thanks!
