No free trials

My SaaS heavily relies on AI, so free trial users that don't convert will be an additional cost. I'm thinking of making the trial paid but very cheap, like $0.5 for a 7 day trial. The idea is to filter out users who aren't serious while keeping the barrier low enough that genuinely interested people won't mind paying.

Is this a good idea?

every time i set up a new system i get this burst of motivation like okay this is the one. spend time organizing everything, setting up tags, priorities, the whole thing. feels great for a few weeks and then i slowly stop using it

maintaining it starts to feel heavier than just doing the actual work. and the worst part is when i do open the app i just feel behind instead of feeling on top of things. doesn't help that it's flashing "OVERDUE" at me like i committed a crime lol. genuinely makes me feel ashamed and lose confidence which at the end made me want to open it less and less

so then i just... stop using it entirely and the cycle starts over with a new app.

do you guys have something that actually stuck long term and why do you think it worked when other things didn't. is it the tool or is this just how these systems go

like it's not even a lot. i'll have maybe 5 things to do. normal stuff. one for uni, one errand, something i promised a friend, a work thing. and somehow by the end of the day i've done none of them or i did one and completely blanked on the rest

and it's not like i forgot they exist?? they're all floating around in my head at the same time which is somehow worse. i'm thinking about all of them and doing none of them. and when they're from different areas of my life at once my brain just short circuits completely

also do todo apps actually help anyone here? i tried using one before but setting it up and actually keeping it updated felt like more work than just doing the tasks themselves so i gave up

how do you guys actually deal with this. like is there something that genuinely helps or do you also just survive on anxiety and last minute panic
